West Ham Thread 2015/16

I think the main point here is that they are receiving an extortionate amount of government help/public funding which makes a mockery of fair play and level playing fields. I don't think anyone has any problems with them actually using the stadium (other than Spurs/Orient) but they shouldn't be given a deal by the government that advantages them over all other clubs. I'm a Palace fan and therefore we were never interested in the stadium itself but their current deal just isn't right. An open inquiry is needed that could set the pay/terms at the going rate for a stadium like that, not a government subsidised rate.

I'd have thought you guys would have been more keen seeing as you gave your ground to the council and paid roughly 50% of the conversion costs? They get to keep 71million from their ground and only pay 15million of the 250odd million cost of the stadium.

I don't think it should mater that you aren't in direct competition with them. Fans of clubs up and down the football league think it is wrong, and many will never compete with West Ham in anything.

When has football ever been about fair play? There isn't a club in the country who wouldn't jump at the chance to get what West Ham have been given. I don't agree with it and think the people who signed off on this deal should be made to answer for it. No sympathy for the fans of Arsenal and Spurs though. They did their best to halt our progress by supporting the ffp rules and now it seems they want to stop West Ham from being able to challenge too.

A lot of City fans like West Ham, so anything that upsets Spurs and Arsenal cannot be that bad.
It is a bit off, but hey ho. We can moan all we like, it never changes anything.
We are all plebs and need to be told what's good for us.

How is it West Hams Fault?

When they have finished with West Ham they can start next on the Royal Family. All those Castles, Land, Large houses and hangers on.

Must cost a fortune in bedroom tax. But not for them.
Bring back the guilloteen...............gullote.......axe.

That petition can fuck off. Really hope this benefits West Ham, would love to see them join us in the CL.

Am not surprised why some of you ain't bothered because you think it's just Spurs and Arsenal with the hump but this affects every club in the country. We paid our fair share for our new ground after the Commonwealth games and we gave away our old one as part of the deal. We pay for our own pitch and facilities upkeep and our matchday stewards. They'll be doing neither and it's us taxpayer who are losing out. How the fuck can some of you have an affinity with WHU, or any other club for that matter? Not the City I have supported man and boy.

Sorry fella but this just sounds like sour grapes. Your argument just boils down to 'we didn't get something for nothing so they shouldn't either' it's all a bit sad really. Blame whoever signed off on it from the government, but West Ham can't be blamed for taking advantage of it. There isn't a club in the country who would turn that sort of deal down.
