West Ham United (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

I watched the first 30 mins then went out for the day, saw we were losing, but knew we would be ok as we should have been out of sight.

29 shots with 15 on target away from home against a side who have started the season well. It’s absolutely crazy.

Fantastic start to the season and this side looks so strong.

I think we should remember who wasn't available today, we really have put together a brilliant squad, we won't miss those who have gone elsewhere.
When you consider the team we put out today had only 6 starters from the CL final, it bodes pretty well for the season ahead of us. I really thought we'd miss Gundo, but it's been a seamless transition. Even losing Kova to injury didn't affect the levels.

Amazing really.

Did the same as you today mate

Every season, it takes us 6/8 weeks to hit our precision groove and some of these points are bonus points. Gvardiol is a Rolls Royce and Doku looks like the sort of quality rapid winger that Bayern normally sign. Both are frighteningly good. And no Kev, Jack and John !! In the same way that winning the F1 World Championship usually results in the driver becoming better as a result, I'm of the view that winning the Champions League makes us a better team. Without being cocky, the self belief has intensified. West Ham gave us a few scares today and were awkward, but at no point did I think we wouldn't win. Take a bow Julian!!

Good performance, good little cameo by Nunes. We do look vulnerable defending corners though and almost a waste of time when we have one.

Erling's acrobatic finishes/attempted finishes remind me very much of a young Dennis Law - his agility meant that he could throw body shapes like no-one else in getting to the ball. The body shapes and ability to finish are where the similarities end though. Dennis was a great striker of his era. Erling will be a great of all eras.
