West Ham United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Every team we play look fitter more organised and actually look like a team. We play so fucking sliw and boring.
Haaland doesn't more, we dont play a style that suits Haaland its so bizarre.

Im so bored of this slow style of letting the opposition get back into their shape before we more forward. Just way do we do it ?

I think what people are not seeing is that we're still having to deal with a massive disparity of decision making by the officials. The difference this season is we haven't got the wherewithal to deal with it as effectively as we've had in previous seasons. It's a transition season. We've had too many players injured and/or not at peak fitness all season.

Points of note in this game:

Looked to be a forearm in the back of Donnaruma for their goal which was never looked at. Given the PiGMOL protocol for ignoring any and all shenanigans at corners this season, I'm not in the least bis surprised.

Fernandes was booked for his 8th foul, and at least 7 of those were worse than what Bernie was booked for.

The Marmoush handball by the letter of the law was a yellow card, but we've seen those not carded already this season, and no doubt we'll see similar not carded before the season is out.

The penalty shout was barely looked at, yet we've seen lesser 'challenges' either given as a PK directly by the referee or forensically examined by VAR for the slightest contact and then given. I'm in no doubt we'll see lesser challenges awarded as such before the season is out.

Time added on after the injury was around 30 seconds less than it should have been.

That's off the top of my head, but I'm sure there was more.

We are refereed differently, and it's all part of Scudamore's strategic plan.

Youve gone mad

Don’t know why Nico Gonzalez doesn’t play more don’t think we’ve got any better since Rodri came back and he’s been on the bench. Play both surely.
I’ve wondered the same and concluded (rightly or wrongly) that Pep favors Bernardo and Rodri because they’ve seen us through tough and tricky games in this part of the season.

And also that he’s such a stickler for having left-footed players on the left in his back line, that in Gvardiol’s absence, he’s been forced to play NOR more than he ordinarily would have (as DM in the past few weeks), and the expense of a right-footed Nico Gonzales. Note that Guehi, Dias, Nunes and Khusanov are all right footed.

Not a surprising result in the context of this season. We are just not good enough to win this title and tonight was more proof. There was too much play in the centre into traffic, and why take off Semenyo when we need a goal. Cherki should play more, too. Credit to West Ham for their spirit and defending. Their centre backs Todibo, Mavropanos and Disasi were excellent. They deserved their point. Good luck to them in staying up

Kompany in if he wins champions league this season, we need to freshen things.
Thanks pep for the good old days, but you need to move on.
I get the “hero returns” mentality, particularly given his success at Bayern (even Kane has won a trophy FFS) but………
I get the feeling it doesn’t often work out well and ……..why would he leave Munich?

Lets be quite honest IMO we should have started with to wingers from the onset, whoever they were, as we tried to play all way through the middle in that first half with no success.
The second half was a little better, but too may times our players were too idle to move into an attacking force to either a near post or a far post and not for the first time we were devoid of answers.

If by regular basis you mean the 3/4 game purple patch he has every 50+ game season then yes, he does that on a regular basis
3/4 out of 50?
Simply put, I’ll agree to disagree with you. If all our squad were put up for sale, he’d be in the first half dozen out the door.

After a while any team needs refreshing. We have had a manager deliver results like I never thought I would see. We have now been on the decline for two seasons and while we are still a good team we are in no way an exciting team. It’s been incredible but when so many long time blues feel a disconnect from style of play we need to look at a change.

15 corners absolutely zero threat from any of them, West Ham 1 corner, goal
They were abysmal. What’s with the floaty type shit we’re serving up. It’s fodder for goalkeepers and defenders. We obviously do fuck all with set price training. Honestly, these players are paid all that money and they can’t even whip in a corner kick.

I am not sure what Cherki has done to Pep but I can’t for the life of me figure out why Pep wouldn’t play one of our most creative players.

This is one of my biggest bugbears.

Arsenal getting pelters for actually scoring from them as well ….madness. I would kill to be scoring ugly

And then if it isn’t bad enough we don’t offer any kind of threat from the what 15? corners tonight, we concede from one ! YCNMIU
And you know if we did score from 1 of the fifteen olivar would've give a foul

Why haaland doesn't come to near post baffles me everyone he stood behind keeper
