West Ham United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

If you discount the fight they just put up, then yeah mate, totally.
Dropping 4 points to 2 relegation candidates in 2 games (well 6 in 3 games if we go back to Tottenham) at the start of a “title fight” is what I would call ‘without putting up a fight’

My response was deleted, simply accused him of being a rag !
I deleted ALL posts quoting it.

That comment was in response too an unsavoury post that somehow slipped the mods attention. Without the first post I doubt the poster would of felt the need to post that.
It didn't "slip" anyones attention, as soon as the posts were reported they were ALL deleted.

The BBC fact checked Pep's comment that we're the sixth highest Prem net spenders of the last five years. They found that Pep is right. We're the fourth highest Prem net spenders of the last ten years.
and only the four league titles , i would say value for money , i would guess the Goons , Chelsea and the Rags are the top three and have won next to f*ck all in comparison
Give Pep another billion. :)

Now I've calmed down a bit after tonight's disappointing result we really haven't had much luck in a lot of those games we've drawn. Forgetting the penalties we probably should have been given we had clear chances at the death against Brighton, Forest and today but just couldn't score. Against Chelsea losing both center halves cost us. The worst result was dropping points against Spurs after being 2-0 up and coastlng. Fine margins those ten points would have us top now with a game in hand. Meanwhile Arsenal seem to have every bit of luck going. Bloody frustrating!

Said it before, I'll say it again. Semenyo should not play at the 10. He has no touch and his dribbling is woeful.

I'm not sure anyone else's opinion on this but at around the 60th minute - we looked gassed.

League is gone. CL is gone. Let's focus on taking two cups and denying Tarquins any more glory that they otherwise don't deserve.

Kompany in if he wins champions league this season, we need to freshen things.
Thanks pep for the good old days, but you need to move on.
you do realise that the level of player that Kompany has at Bayern is far superior than what we have....

This type of romanticism in football rarely works out well...and can go very very badly wrong.......

Another substandard, laboured, pedestrian performance that. 1-0 up v Chelsea, 1-0 up v Brighton, 2-0 up v Spurs, 1-0 and 2-1 up v Forest, 1-0 up v West Ham - and we don't win a single one of them, and that simply isn't good enough to win things.

Quite frankly when we play like today it's a rather painful watch. Jog jog sideways, jog walk backwards, jog walk jog sideways - it takes us 5 mins to get the ball anywhere near the opponents box by which time they've set up camp. God forbid an early cross - and even when we do sling a ball over Semenyo and Haaland then side footed wide perfectly presentable chances.

We had 15 corners in that game, West Ham had 1 and scored off theirs. Bar Guehi's late sitter we barely threatened off any of ours. Marmoush took 5 corners inside the first 15 mins and every one of them was shite - compare and contrast to how Rice & Saka drop them precisely into the right area for Arsenal.

The goalkeeper having a walk about when crosses come in aint good, whilst the number 9 we rely on for goals has been awol for 3 months now, and nobody dares criticise him. Erling isn't doing it I'm afraid and besides people blaming everyone or everything else he also needs to take a look in the mirror.

It was criminal that Cherki was sat on his arse for 60 mins tonight, whilst if I'm Gonzalez I'm seeking a move the summer as he's being wasted sat on his arse too. We've played our best footy with him in the team this season but Pep doesn't seem to rate him or trust him.

Biggest indictment of us at the moment is that it's frankly not a good watch. We look tired, laboured, slow and devoid of ideas bar trying to lull teams to sleep by hogging the ball in our own half and central midfield, playing 36 short sideways passes amongst ourselves before we consider looking forwards.

That's the 2 major pots now disappeared over the horizon - play like we did today at Wembley next week, and against Liverpool on the 4th of April and the season will be down the tubes, unless the playing staff and manager Effin wake up, man up and start turning up and showing a bit of urgency, snap and speed into how we play.

Some very good points made but how could we speed play tonight when we were up against a full team defending.

Nothing good lasts forever! We’ve had it gooder, than I could’ve dreamt in 1983,1998 etc…Forever thankful for this last decade and more.Let us not become entitled dickheads.Goodnight.

Somehow can't wholly blame Pep, we have bought a lot of shit players but then why play so many technically deficient forwards that don't produce anything. This team needs a giant dose of creativity and technical skills.

How much more do we need to suffer in order to replace Josep Wenger? Arsenal fans had to do it for 12 years before they realized he was overstaying his welcome during that time, hopefully we do it after 2. Hopefully.

Deserved to win. If Cherki had started, we would have
Cherki starting makes too much sense for Pep. Last time he was starting every game, we went on to win 8 games in a row because he's our only creative midfielder. Pep is insisting on sabotaging our season by not playing our best player of the season until the last 10 minutes.
