West Ham United (A) | Post-Match Thread

i wish a lot of others had your positivity mate.

i thought it was a very good point. Shame about the pen but shit happens.
Its not about being positive bro its about being realistic - we have fundamental issues (defence) - two defenders (really two midfielders) who can’t defend, can’t recover the ball when they make a mistake (specially in counter attacks), can’t win the ball in the air. However if we take out Zinchenko and ferna for ake & and maybe one of the academy lads i would be very hopeful. If not pep is basically rewarding diabolical performances

He's coming in to his prime, the hard work has been done by him and us, I don't want to hear how great he is playing for fucking Arsenal.

I agree but unfortunately I suspect we have to move someone out from the front line and Raz looks likely to sit tight for a free.

Just hope Pep will put his foot down and say he wants the club to keep Gabby.

I've had several viewings of the match highlights and I think that the West Ham player who cleared the ball from Mahrez's pen was inside the area before Riyad played the ball. I wonder if VAR looked at it and ignored it, or the player wasn't. It's difficult to judge from the angle the highlights give but if they can assess that a ball was still 11mm in play then they can do a similar job with encroachment. Was there any mention of VAR looking for encroachment, or were they just delighted that we missed a three pointer pen?

yep context is everything, and at one point we looked buried only to really turn the whole thing on it's head to come away wondering how we didnt win, which is remarkable really. I still thought, all things considered, this was a very good point.
Throw in the fact that our equaliser resulted from one of their players heading the ball into his own net, and that they had two glorious chances to win the game, it’s unhealthy to dwell too much on the saved penalty

Even as VAR was cancerous as it usually is - yesterday our-players were fundamentally poor everyone was ghosting why is nobody mentioning that? Both on a team & individual level nobody turned up - i however think Grealish really stepped up the gears eventually and i feel sorry for Laporte he is being surrounded by players who he has to make up for - credit goes underrated. Hate to even give Liverpool a glimmer of hope - now u have those dickheads in the media already pretty much saying they are gonna win the league - bunch of cunts

It did seem that the ref had is hand to his ear, as they do when they’re listening to the 4th official or var. There was a very slight pause before he shook his head at a City player. It seemed like it was checked

We have the best team in the country but I am not sure what that has to do with Sunday, we had a far better team than Madrid, we hammered them for 178 mins but what was the result?

Sunday is going to be tough, remember QPR?
And what has Madrid got to do anything?
So I'll flip that on it's head, how damaging was that result in Madrid?

How have our games ended since then?

Yes I remember QPR. Remember West Ham 2014? Or Brighton 2019?

You need to look at the bigger picture pal instead if taking little pot shots.

No it wasn’t,we clawed are way back into the game yesterday, thankfully, against Lyon we went out of the Champions League to a team who were seventh in the French League. Yesterdays result at least kept it in our hands.
‘Our’. No subs was a fuck up. Those who refuse to see that are blinkered pep fan boys. The fella makes mistakes. Not using his substitutes and not blooding youngsters are two of them. He is fallible.

As I posted yesterday, you are a clown who doesn't know anything about football.

Shut up with your ignorant bollocks. "He is fallible". You idiot.
