West Ham United (A) | Post-Match Thread

One week's rest now. If you'd asked me 5 - or 37 - games ago whether I'd take this I'd have snapped your arm off. There are always a dozen moments you can point to over the course of a season where things might be different, but ultimately we go into our final game of the season, at home, knowing if we prepare and do our jobs properly we will be champions of England.

It'll be interesting to see if Van Dijk, Salah and Fabinho are fit on Tuesday, and whether Klopp starts to focus on the CL instead, but regardless it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is we are game away from the premier league title.

Not blaming the players although zinc and cancelo did play balls that defied logic. None of them are great defensively can't believe Ake never started or even came on.
This really shouldn't be coming down to the last game but it is what it is.
Can’t disagree, ake mustn’t be fully fit, so benched in case Laporte or Fern break down

I am not advocating, I am telling you coaches and players absolutely talk about who should take penalties and when. There are plenty of accounts from current and former coaches and players supporting that.

And I am sure Riyad was designated here, but that doesn’t mean I agree with it.
So you’re saying the designated penalty taker took the penalty, is that not how it should be?

Think we can agree to disagree here, there’s loads of moments in every game that influence the result. Riyadh’s penalty miss was one of many.

No-one is now focusing on the calamitous defensive display that put us in the shit in the first place. Bernardo not making any attempt to make an aerial challenge in the run up to the second goal, poor offside line discipline by the defence etc.

Ultimately we are still in the driving seat, Not as good a seat as it should have been but a decent seat nonetheless!

Yes. Think we still have the lowest goals conceded in the league, even after today.
How many of those had a back 4 of Cancelo-Dinho-Laporte-Zin? We fell apart today under the slightest examination, even midweek the goal was completely avoidable. Back to 19/20 at the back.

I'd have took a point before the game. West Ham are a decent team. However, after the first half I'd say the point is fantastic.
me to mate and would have snatched the draw at H-T,,,the point is fine were good for the final game, some pissed off people on here but hey how do the scousers feel with us being 2 down at H-T,now that is a pisser

Why on earth did Pep change the team that played so well against Wolves. Sterling and Foden should have started. He didn't use a single sub again either.

Some serious bollocks shown there by the boys. I'd have taken 4 points from the games against Wolves and West Ham. Could have been better but could have been an awful lot worse. Feared the worst after that 1st half but we were unlucky not to win. It's in our hands now and that's all we can ask.

Don’t think you can really complain about someone having a penalty saved imo. If he had missed the target fair enough but it’s one of those things. Good result considering
Give over it was a terrible penalty perfect height for a keeper to save!

Antonio was an absolute disgrace today, constantly diving, throwing dissent at the officials and escaped a booking for it all. Not seen him like that before
I'll admit to liking him before today, thought he was a handful, quick and direct, he spent most of today pretending to be grass, good job they don't play in green

Happy to agree to disagree.

Would have loved to not have to take heart medication on the final day but at least it is still in our hands! ;-)
