Not sure about that, he seems to be super confident and relaxed about the whole thing. We may have to adapt for him and maybe let the opposition have the ball a little more so we can spring a break quickly ourselves. That's going to be hard for Pep to do but we may need to do that. It'll be interesting to see how it pans out against teams like Spurs and Arsenal who like a bit of possession themselves.
Sorry to hear that EB. Will you be fit enough to go next weekend?Oh how I needed that laugh today. I should be out with ex-colleagues for lunch and a few drinks and obviously can't make it today so that Alternative Comedy did me the world of good. Thank you @Alan Harper's Tash you sue know how to raise a girl's *rofl* spirits. :-)
Grealish is doing exactly what pep wants keeping the ball and dragging players out of position opening up spaces for others. The 2nd goal yesterday is a classic example.Don't think we were great yesterday tbh, but it's completely to be expected given they've only had 2 pre-season games. It's going to take some time for the lads to get used to the new movement from Haaland, it's completely different to anything we have and actually i don't think we've ever had someone like that (even Aguero). The way he completely commits to runs is completely different. What the lads and Haaland will need to learn is, we don't always have to use that run but it can be a decoy for others who should start making runs as well.
I know there's some people on Twitter saying that Grealish played well, but we need more from him in the final 3rd. Getting the ball, driving and then turning round to lay it back is required sometimes but he really needs to mix it up with driving into the box/line and then following through with a delivery or shot. I wasn't sure about Foden on the right tbh, i know he's played there and done really well before but it seemed to be a bit counter-productive when you have a 6ft 4inch giant in the middle.
*fingers crossed* I am doing my very best. It's good days and bad days. But I will be trying my very best. I don't want to miss Alfie's lad's home debut. Plus Pep might bring John Boy back. :-)Sorry to hear that EB. Will you be fit enough to go next weekend?
Taxi for Eccles! :-)*fingers crossed* I am doing my very best. It's good days and bad days. But I will be trying my very best. I don't want to miss Alfie's lad's home debut. Plus Pep might bring John Boy back. :-)
If you are struggling to get there, I’d offer you a lift it it would help.*fingers crossed* I am doing my very best. It's good days and bad days. But I will be trying my very best. I don't want to miss Alfie's lad's home debut. Plus Pep might bring John Boy back. :-)
I don't get why people find it 'boring'. I like the strategy of the setup and the movement of the players to creat space. I guess that's why I hate the typical English hoofball over the top game. I mean' what's the point of having a midfield if you're going to play like that.I can actually understand the fans of other clubs say that it's boring to watch City when all they see is the small segment of the pitch that's shown on TV. What they don't get to watch is the movement of the players to create the space for others to pass the ball as another player comes in to fill that gap. It's metronomic at times. It's like we're performing a play called Death by a thousand passes. We've just taken football to new levels and long may it continue.
True.It might have hit the post on its way in, but certainly not "in off the post".
