Impossible to tell of course, because different eras cannot be objectively or fairly compared, but wonder if he’s the best keeper to ever play for the club.
Even keepers from similar eras, irrespective of all the stats beloved of so many today.

For instance, you can find details of Ederson's mistakes leading to goals conceded - and of his assists - but not of the unquantified benefit of retaining possession all those times which led to neither of the above. No record of that.

Donna obviously completely different, but what a total star, from day one. A real turning point of the season, when everything was looking pretty sour early on. Another gem via Ligue 1.

Yeah but we’ve won 8 titles so more often than not we were not top at Xmas :)
I see - I misread yours (thought you saying we were poor front-runners, but you were actually saying we were top hunters! :-) )

Like you, love them both mate.

I watched MOTD last night (well this morning as I recorded it!!) and was pleasantly surprised at the way the showed our game. It made me aware again as to how good we are. I'm not sure who picks the clips and puts the footage together but I had the feeling that Shay and Joe might have had a lot to do with it. I loved having two ex-City players, especially goalkeepers representing us.
The thing with Shay, Joe and Nedum is that although they are City ex-players they don't come over as sycophants to City but as very fair and although seeing where we go wrong don't dwell on it and neither do they dwell on the great bits. They are what the commentators should be like. Hey ho, maybe one day. :-)

Funny as fuck that Donnarumma gets stick, the lad has been fucking class since he's been here. Again, yesterday making big saves to keep it at 2-0.

That's three clean sheets on the bounce in the league now. He's a fucking monster.
Big saves AND the "Donnarumma Factor" has kicked in with opposition attackers at least five or six times already; where they look up and see that "just the keeper to beat" is actually "just the World's best keeper to beat" and as it plays on their mind in that split second they take an extra touch/lose concentration/do something they wouldn't ordinarily do and simply fuck up their gilt edged chance.

Bernardo, not Cherki or Foden (unless Cherki doesn't help enough off the ball).

Some/most players are a bit tired after having played every 3-4 days recently. Drawing conclusions from W Ham is a bit pointless given the schedule we had.
Did you hear Peps comments about bernardo?

He trusts him more than any other player in the squad....he is his "weakness" to quote him....

If Cherki or Foden keep failing to do what Pep wants they will be out.....Bernardo wont fail too often to do exactly what Pep wants....

Especially in the big games

If each of them is good enough there's no reason why we can't rotate more often and keep them all fit and fresh. If not, the better player gets the job.
Pep clearly not happy with some of the players defensively and in the way they are keeping possession....its about the simple things that Pep is taking about....he wont allow them to keep making those mistakes.
Yesteday everyone could see West ham getting into the game more....what does Pep do..took Reijnders Cherki and Nico G off moving Nunes to midfield alongside Rico Lewis .....
That says everything about what he thought of the performance from the midfield in the second half of the game....none of them were taken off due to injuries and all you have to do is listen to Peps comments after the game....

Rodri comes back in and gets to his level (or close to it) and he is going to play...one less place and someone drops out and I dont thikn its Bernardo - Pep loves him too much and he is so vital
