Great game. I dont want to sound like a Debby downer but even though lopez did play well i think we are overrating his performance. he had some smart runs and good passes but other than that he was invisible imo but a great prospect non the less.

For what its worth, I've already spoken to several supporters of other clubs and all they wanted to talk about, was Lopes. It's not just City fans he impressed last night mate. The lads got it.

I agree. Not sure what expectations are on here any more but the lad is still a teenager in his first full game against Premiership opposition. I thought he was excellent - setting up 2 goals and his energy and commitment throughout the game were excellent. He looks a really good prospect

Very little mention of Lopes in the press this morning - Janusaj's crown beginning to wobble a bit? Thought he was surprisingly excellent because he seemed to have been playing in the PL for years in terms of positional sense and general awareness on the pitch. Belting cross for the first goal within the first 3 minutes and a very strong run/dribble before slipping it to Sergio for the second. Then the rest of the game a mature, professional performance. No loans for this lead next season, he's in our first team squad, will play games and is a mile better off at our club learning from our first teamers rather than some desperate old has beens at a club fighting relegation. And not entirely unrelated, does anyone on here think we're not signing a CB this January, and are apparently happy to let Joleon's contract run down, because we've got Kerim Rekik coming back from loan in the summer and he's a real prospect?

Who's that running into the box along with Negredo? Surely not Boyata??

It's Fernandinho.

Not sure if we are happy to run Joleon's contract down but more to the point are perhaps prepared to let him go if he wants to go if we can find him a new home on a permanent deal without necessarily replacing him with a more suitable defender in January.

We will know in ten days time but I think its more down to what Joleon wants as we were prepared to accommodate Barry we may do likewise with Lescott.

Personally I would keep him until the summer when of course he will leave us.

We don't need a centreback in January if Lecott stays.

Big thanks to Andrew Mercer and the crew from wythenshawe left my ticket in the pub in west Ham and they made sure I got it back only MCFC fans would be so helpful

Most of the team were very impressive last night but special mention must go to Marcos - deserved man of the match and made the West Ham midfield look ordinary - guess they are at the moment but they are still seasoned professionals who have plied their trade in the Prem for some time and an 18 year old outshone them.

However, what impressed me most was that dispite the score being 9 - 0, the players still wanted to score more and, possibly more important, not concede - Jolean's bloke near the end. At 90 odd minutes, West Ham had a corner and the defence handled it like the game was on a knife edge and we were defending a 2 - 1 ( on aggreagate ) lead.

Well played, City - great stuff.

Very very impressive from Lopes got his chance to show Pell what he could do and took it brilliantly the kids still a work in progress but he's showing more than enough to give Pell hope for his future at city. What I like about the mindset of this squad is their ruthlessness toward anyone who gets in their way they just want to batter everyone as brutally as they can in the time allowed no lifting off from Pells boys ! ............ I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!
