West Ham Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

It was nothng game given the 6-0 first leg scoreline yet our manager sends out a second string side that has shown urgency and hunger to carry on, dominating and scoring and winning.

Trust me, we are in the early stages of seeing one of the worlds greatest ever club sides being built here!

Watching the highlights now, and I've no idea where the West Ham singing came from, was it piped in from another game ? they had about 20 lads singing to our left (who all had a great night out by the looks of it so full credit to them), but in the ground we never heard a peep for most of the game.

I couldn't hear a thing from anywhere else in the ground all night - the PA, the home fans, nothing apart from our lads. Maybe it's just the acoustics.

I did enjoy those West Ham lads version of the Poznan.

I guarantee under any other manager we've had we would of lost that game last night. Suppose we wouldn't of won the first leg is 6-0 either. How different is the me mentality in the squad this year? It was like a comedy at times under Mancini.

I think it was a great and very professional performance from a line-up not the strongest (nor a weak one for that matter) that won in the wake of a 6-0 lead. This is a squad that wants an unbeaten streak to continue and continue it as impressive as possible. You sence every squadplayer is gaining confidence, we play with a swagger, Aguero seems to have come back meaner, we give a young player an opportinity and he gets the vote for MotM, and we are able to play 2 who have been out a long time through injury to let them gain rythme (and confidence). It's all going very well for us. Sometimes it looks like we wanna showboat, but what can you do if it's all so effective.

Even by League-Cup standards the way we got in to this final has been nothing short of impressive. We are an exemple to many other clubs how to treat this competition with respect, even we all know it's not the most important prize you can win.

Another Wembley-final. I hope whoever starts will want to make up for our last visit over there, and give Pellegrini his 1st of hopefully many trophy's as a City-manager.

Go watch the highlight clip of the 2nd goal again. When Garcia rolls the ball forward to Lopes to start his weaving bumrush up the middle, Aguero is standing in his own half of the field. Afterburners engage.

Biggest difference between our play now and last year being the time spent in our defensive half from the strikers.

Means they have to be be fitter and cover more territory than before but if they are smart about it it has many more positives than negatives.

In my opinion the strikers are scoring more because they are running more and defending more both in our half and the oppositions half.

Last season outside set pieces you would hardly see Dzeko's defensive side especially in our own half.

I must have counted at least a dozen times against Cardiff when he was last man standing down Cardiffs left.

I reckon he is getting as much enjoyment out of defending which he has shown he can do as scoring this season.

Ditto Negredo and Kun.

Some blues have short memories about what Bob did for this club.

Who's the WH player who falls over twice and ends up swinging his arms? Haha!

Negredo 59 mins

Who's that running into the box along with Negredo? Surely not Boyata??
