We've been shit before. We'll be shit again. So what?

There's a new topic in that post, m27.

I know quite a few passionate blues who supported other clubs as kids.

I went to the 1978 LEague Cup Final, Forest v Liverpool. I supported Forest for a couple of years after that, even though my Dad carried on taking me to City.

I changed back in 1980. I reckon there are more there out there who do that than people realise.

does altrincham fc count? :)

Lol thanks

Saying about personality, at my old school there was a proper blue there, only time i've ever been to school with one actually. Doing some PHSE rubbish about best qualities and had to work in pairs, and we didn't work together, but other people always put we could laugh at ourselves, and when we heard that we burst out laughing, before that beautiful

"WE NEVER WIN AT HOME!"

Must admit, it must have been hard back then, but at least there were other blues.
not much older than you mate, but growin up we got relegated twice while i was in primary school. i live in sale and its full of reds. was tough but standing up to them makes you feel good. thats what you have done and therefore you should be proud of yourself. anyway by the time your my age (21) we'll be winning champions leagues so dont worry.

Primary School?? We'd been relegated twice before I reached my third year at Uni!! Those relegations obviously weren't my first either.

-- Sat Mar 27, 2010 2:36 am --

What do to you talk about when you win all the time anyway?

"Great win that wasn't?"
"Yeah, top win."
"I thought Rooney was excellent."
"Yeah, excellent."

"Has your Michelle still got that tattoo of a dolohin on her arse?"

See, the mind wanders and mistake are made. The mind needs focus, Mancini is the man to solve this problem as half the time you're thinking, "What the fuck's he doing now?.

Tiresome really. Arsenal fans are the worst for it, they phone up 5Live and just say:

"Hello Spoony. I'd just like to say how marvelous we played today. Some of the best football I have ever seen blah blah blah..."

I've no interest, I want to hear from West Ham fans slating their players and Cardiff fans enquiring as to where Risdale's gone with all their money.

Winning and stability is boring. Losing and turmoil is the new winning.

..WOW!..when i was 13 back in 1987,city were struggling in the old div 2..we had no money, just got a new manager call Mel Machin, Everton & Liverpool were at there most powerful but Man Utd did'nt win much but always seemed to be ahead of us with the most annoying "fans" at school...City this and city that is all i got for 5 years at shool.. Then one sunny September day the blues hit all the right notes and came up trumps just when I never expected..A 5-1 over them... I walked into school on that Monday morning...and not one rag said a thing to me... it was the best feeling...POINT OF THIS STORY IS: just when you think you have had enough..CITY ALWAYS COME UP ON TOP.....

I'll take the age remark as a compliment I think ey? ;)

I would do mate. As I said at the top of this topic is good to see that some school age folk can put together constructive, interesting and readable content for the site. Too many people post rubbish content just to get their post counts up and that's often to the detriment of bluemoon.

Wow, pretty deep topic here.

I think the main point I'd like to pick up on is people slating 'younger fans' for compaining that we don't know what shit is.

Granted I was only 3 when Dickov scored against Gillingham, but it doesn't really matter does it? Young or Old we all love the club, and we all will when we're shit again.

Because it always swings in roundabouts. United were shit once, and look at their performance ever since Ferguson arrived. Once Ferguson goes, United will slowly fall away again. City had their time in the late 60s and early 70s, and our time will be coming again, so to speak.

That pretty much sums it up, I mean look at global warming.

The earth naturally warms and cools in cycles, think of the ice-age being us in the third division, and now pollution is making the earth warm up, a la Sheik Mansour.

^^^Whilst us "older" fans know what it's like to have REALLY shit times, and can smile when younger fans complain, we do at least have our memories of when the rags were pretty shite and had the likes of Sexton in charge and Birtles up front and were all bitter and envious of Liverpools superiority..!
The kids today have only ever known football bein dominated by them and Ferguson... which isn't a nice thought./quote]

Spot on remember the joke "they named a building in town after Garry Birtles UMIST We have been gloriously bad for as long as I can remember relegation battles in the late 50's eventually going down 1963 with a 6-1 defeat at West Ham (don't do things by half City) 2 years of turmoil before Joe Mercer spoiled it all and made us into a great team How could it last The relegation in 1983 is where our troubles really started as we have never got back to our past glories Yo Yo up and down the leagues but City is and always will be MY team whatever they do or end up You cant break 50 odd years of pleasure and pain they have brought me.I say to the younger fans enjoy it as there will be days when you feel totally euphoric after City have done something unexpected but be aware somewhere along the line they will send you into total despair
Wouldn't have it any other way as it is the way we are no matter how much money we have or have not We have soul something that lot do not possess with their pursuit of world biggest this and that
keep the faith

I've never seen football and global warming compared together. That was almost genius 'Amigo'. Things have their time, and nothing lasts forever. Our owners have all their money because of oil, you would agree? In 30 years, the oil is all going to run out (so they say), so in turn... we won't have any money - thus, beginning our demise.

united have had 2 decades of consistant success. we had about 6 years. we are owed some years me thinks

12 year old here. I get exactly the same shit of most rags in shcool that you do Amigo.
Ive been to the swamp more times than most of them ffs. Luckily, i was only a baby when we was down in the old division 3 but i was there under keegan and pearce home and away, so hopefully the good times are coming now to reward our loyal fans.

p.s i have over 4000 loyalty points. About 4200 i think.

i just tell rags when they take the piss,

i bet you have had some great memories from your sofa bloody hell, like that time united won the league while you sat at home eating your cereal. jesus im so jealous. i mean getting promoted at blackburn and running on the pitch was fuck all compared to you eating your cereal... all those memories you have, and the good thing is they were all made in the comfort of your living room which makes your house a special place.

you need to cheer up mate, its going to happen the arabs wont fuck off because they love us, as we love them! give it 3 years old trafford will be half full (or not even there the way things are looking) we will be winning trophy after trophy and all your "mates" that are rags wont be into football anymore. ;)

I`m a 16 year old Irish girl and I can tell you that supporting City is possibly the hardest thing I`ve ever had to do. Not because I don`t love them, because I do, an awful lot. But because I attend a school occupied by rags and scousers. Girls who do not have the slightest clue about football yet still slag me off for supporting City.
The point is that, even though I have to put up with endless stupid comments such as `What was the score?` `Tevez who?` `Why don`t you support United?` from people who have not got the slightest clue about football. Despite this I love Manchester City and because I love them I have faith that we will come good. In a few years time we will be world beaters, the new United. Except so much more classy, so much more humble. We`ll still be us. And even if we do become shit again we can survive that. Because you know what? City fans are the best fans in the world bar none. This thread has proved that.
