When people go fishing with a rod and line, invariably they do it for sport, for fun, for the challenge, for competition even.
Every angler knows they could just buy a huge net or a hand grenade and have every fish in the lake within a few minutes.
But they choose not to do it because that's not the point - it's all about the skill, the challenge over adversity, the finesse and the sheer fun.

I never supported anyone else but I was taken to United as an 8 year old; UEFA Cup games, big League games but I just didn't like it and my Dad sensed it.
So, from nowhere he decides to take me to City v Palace in the 84/85 season and the rest is history.
My Dad though..his get out clause to his family and my Mam's family is that he played that much football as a kid and a young man he didn't really have 'a club'. If I speak to him on his own though he opens up. "Son, I just didn't realise supporting a football club could be so emotional. It's just different."
I love that man.
