We've got enough....

As mentioned....left ourselves thin in a few areas! Years of poor team management, gave us too much to do in one summer! I think Sanchez would have given us more goals and lack of goals could be the difference between us coming 2 and winning the Prem at the end of the season. LB, CB and a forward short and money still in the bank doesnt make much sense but window done and made some great signings! Lets just hope everyone stays fit! ;)

I believe we have the best squad -

We have spent more than all the teams that finished below us significantly strengthening our first team

Chelsea have second season syndrome and also look weaker - Spuds not done much business - Liverpook have done good business but their squad looks weak with CL footy.

I think based on the above , if Pep is as good as we expect we should win the league otherwise the manager and board have f*cked up

We do indeed have a strong squad and will likely win the PL.

But our owners are not satisfied with this - our goal is to win the CL.

And Madrid are the best team in football by a fair margin, with Bayern and Barca and now PSG also very strong. Our squad can now compete with these teams... but against RM, I'd much rather have Sanchez and Mbappe *both* in our squad.

One last thought...

Is a strong academy, consistently developing "home grown" players - players who end up starting for and becoming the best of their squad - is such an academy more of a nostalgic anachronism than a vital part of today's game?

If our owners seriously wanted to win the CL then Sanchez would have been signed with an offer to good to refuse, when PSG are spending mega bucks and RM look formidable - a GK and two FB and BS don't change a team finishing 4th to a CL winning team.

PSG's owners really want to win the CL, we as a club have a good business strategy which allows us to grow and compete but we still look way behind the top clubs. \\\\\\\\\this doesn't mean we don't have a chance as we do have real quality players

I've already said I have no regrets regarding City's strategy on the Sanchez issue. I've also said I consider a weakness the absence of a plan B. Simply because that's what it is, a weakness...

It's obvious the manager believes we needed another forward plus another CB. As far as I am concerned, City are not adequately covered in the DM position also, given the way Guardiola wants to play. But that's a different discussion...

Anyway. It is difficult to accept that AS and JE were the only players in the football universe capable of meeting City's demands for the above mentioned positions, respectively. Extremely difficult, in fact impossible. But what is done is done. Just that there will be no excuses from now on...

I agree mate....clearly Pep felt a forward and CB was needed but when the Sanchez/Evans deals felt apart, we didnt have a plan B lined up, I think that was the biggest surprise for me. The club had highlighted those areas to upgrade, had the money to spend but left empty handed. As you say, what is done is done.....

One big winner in all of this is Raheem the club showed great support for the lad and I hope he relays it now on the pitch.

Yep what is done is done , we have to hope for minimal injuries in 'key areas' ie LB , CH and CF .. we are due some luck in the injury dept surely.
It's also a chance for the kids to shine .. Tosin , Foden , Diaz all should get a chance at some stage.
Anyway it's 4 months until the January window opens... I expect us to be very active again come that window.

Just 2 senior strikers to fight all fronts in one of the most competitive season ever? Not enough!
