We've got enough....

I think it's true that Fernandinho could start to struggle but imo there is no guarantee the proposed signings would have fixed that.

it would need some experimentation.
Yea. It’s always a gamble. The tens of millions we’ve gambled away on players like Mangala, Bony et al.

It’s going to be an interesting season for sure.

could be wrong but dont think he's officially signed yet mate...dont know how true but I read somewhere they waiting until he turns 18 (23rd July) before putting pen to paper, but hopefully that means he can still join the squad for pre-season. Would be great experience for him to get some game time while alot of the squad are still on summer breaks.
Not sure if it's true, but I read somewhere that he is training with us, but can't sign his contract before the 23rd

Fernandinho is a energy reliant mid at the age where most players lose their energy I honestly won't be suprised if his performances fall off a cliff next season. His World Cup showing wasn't promising either. By Some point of the season we might consider Fernandinho past it and Gundogan the starter. And I'm not going to lie gundogan isn't exactly a guy who we can rely on to win the pl at Dm.
This.
After watching Brazil at the WC I have some worries about Fern - I doubt he will fall off a cliff but decline has set in. Of more concern is an injury to Fern.
Gungogen does not have enough pace and he is not good enough at defending fir me and may have injury concerns in this role. So we need a world class DM/pivot at some point (soon).
Gomez may be the man but he is very young and was brought in to possibly replace Fern long term but we are lacking a YaYa replacement now (we were lucky Fern wasn't injured ast year).
Pushing Stones up in the interim is probably the best option as we have 4 centre halves - so more of a concern postponed than realised.

Last season many people were saying Fernandinho is finished and we need new DM, but he turns out one of the best DM in the league last season and helped City to achieve the 100 points.

We remember what happened to Yaya. Legs can just go and you’re no longer able to do what you did. There is a possibility if not a probability this will happen to Ferdy. Pep wanted cover and competition in that position so I guess he didn’t see Gundy in that role long term.

I’d love it if we had a youngster ready to step up but failing that we need another world class DM signing to compete with a player who physically won’t be able to play the role for maybe more than this coming season.

But if Gundy is that player and Foden can step into his more forward role, then great. I really want to see Academy players coming through.

Yaya's legs were always going to go when he hit 32+. The guys a man mountain and there was no way his legs would cope. Fern is a different breed he's very slight and nimble so he will be able to play top level until 35 with ease.
