What a superbly run football club we are now.

I only got the last few hrs on eadline day. Was it a case of no one knew until city released the facts.
Watch the press conference on OS, as Manuel announced it, at the end of the Sunderland press conference. Its really funny, because he finished the presser, got up, and then almost "oh by the way....", a f**king big "up yours" to the media from Manuel and City, and then City put the statement on the official site about 2 minutes later, the media didn't have a f**king clue, delightful stuff from City, and it then completely consumed transfer deadline day here.

It makes me smile a little bit especially considering how so many journalists are so open about how boring his press conferences are. It's almost as though they heard all that nonsense, said nothing about it and then pulled a massive do one to the media. 1 statement no questions boom

We're a brilliant run club with a clear succession plan. This is more evident with Paddy V taking a role at NYCFC, it potentially opens the door for him to come in after Pep.

I genuinely think we're the best run club in the world. We make huge strides season after season.

Yes, a very clever touch. Totally stops all the "Poor Manuel" stories.

I thought it was very interesting indeed that the club statement said "discussion that were curtailed in 2012". That's there for a reason, and my guess is that if it wasn't for a certain Mr Aguero, Guardiola would have been our manager that summer.

Twice i've seen you post that Dave, did i miss something in 2012 with reference to Agureo and Pep?

Only thing that jarred with me, otherwise a very good post.

Before anyone starts I know we represent Abu Dhabi in one way or another, and that was likely the intent behind the takeover in the first place, but we represent Manchester first and foremost. I'm sure Dave wasn't overlooking this, nonetheless it didn't quite sound right in the manner it was put, IMO at least.

You may want to wind your neck in on this. Some people who remember your posts in other threads may get the wrong idea.

Just sayin

Awesome. I've doubted the current manager at times and some of the signing in the last few years but no-one can doubt that we are the best run club in the business now. The one thing we've missed in these past 8 years is a truly elite manager that will scare the rest of Europe. The icing has been added to a very tasty cake.

Personally I think it will have been Manuel who pushed for the announcement as it now makes him available for job offers and I'm sure the club and Pep would rather have not announced anything until there was no chance of City facing Bayern Munich in the CL
I'm also sure that Manuel was informed of the plans three years ago when he was interviewed for the job

I love the fact that he made the announcement at the end of the press conference and took all the hacks by complete surprise
