Franzikhaner.
Kolsch.
Gutmann.

Couldn't agree more. Most German beers are great (don't touch Sternburg, though). Czech beer is also top.

Try any from the smaller, local breweries as they have a sharper taste. I'm not too hot on Munich beers, but I'd recommend Altenburger and Fiedler (especially the Bockbier) from this part of the country.

Always turns out to be some 40+ know it all on an overdose of testosterone who basically wont accept people like different things and your only a man if you drink the real ales and dark bitters that he drinks. If you drink lager than apparently you drink piss.

To answer the OP; im a lager man and the only bitter I can drink is Boddies. Peroni is my favourite lager and an old school Bud goes down well when the mood is right.

Quite like South American lager too.

Dark bitters? Do you mean milds, porters and stouts? Let me tell you young man that a woman is often attracted to a man with a pint of mild. She may be malodorous, partially bearded and wearing a cardigan that is starting to unravel and is tied with string but attracted she will be.

In seriousness, I like a bit of Fiddlers Elbow from time to time, and I enjoy Newcastle Brown to be fair.

To me though, sunny day, beer garden, pint of Peroni - bliss.

used to love a pint of boddies through the 70s and 80s, but the stuff they produce now is not boddies by any stretch
