What are we expecting from Pep's first season?

Looking for consistency in terms of desire on the pitch. Some flexibility in terms of setting up. Rid of the dead wood, we all know who, and getting in younger hungry players, bought or from academy. Losing the typical city tag, because it has returned.
Having the pundits drool over our play instead of sticking the knife in and laughing at us.
Win some stuff.

Have to disagree there marvin. We need 2 just for midfield if you ask me. Plus 2 fullbacks, a centre back and a forward, and all top quality. Time to exploit the Chinese partnership.

Injuries have had an influence especially as main players, we can't be that unlucky again.
Depends what your objective is. I'd aim to boss the Premiership, and indoctrinate the players and club in my regime and then add players.

Playing potential there's only one big hole in the team and that's central midfield.

I just want to enjoy watching us again - which sounds strange coming less than a month after lifting a trophy and having a top day/night in London, but true nonetheless.

Everybody seems to be thinking that it's a nailed-on certainty that Pep will only be here for three years. I'm not sure about that, at all. it's a three-year contract in the first instance.
And to really revamp this club and its teams, to leave his stamp on us and take us up to the top echelon of European football, that is, in the top four or so, I believe he'll need something like five years, maybe even six. And given how this club is clearly planned with the long term in mind, a timescale of that sort may just interest him.

At the moment id swap 100 trophys just to see the team actually look up for it at kick off. If he gets desire back into the team then il be happy

me too. The anticipation of going to the games has gone for now.

I am looking forward to being in the spotlight again. Feel like whilst Pellers has been in charge the media have largely ignored us.

Also, a good ding dong battle betwen City and Utd next season and keep the scousers at bay.

I expect less tippy tap football when the cross is quite plainly on ffs!

Let's not forget that this fella got Jerome boateng playing like a very good centre back.

because he played him there instead of at right back as he did for us. And he was fit too. Had a knee injury when he was with us.

I saw him playing cb for us Marvin when he was fit. Perhaps he was worried about getting injured again but I remember him pulling out of tackles. You can't do that as a defender.

The Premier League, both domestic Cups, the Champions League, The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, The Grand National, The Boat Race, Eurovision Song Contest and the X-Factor!!

In his 2nd year I would expect him to improve on that easy first year haul!!

Am I being too optimistic?

Let's say we got pogba to replace yaya. You're not telling me we would then boss the premiership are you?

Don't know about expectations but I know what I am hoping for: something of a cross between his first season at Barca and his first at Bayern. He swept away some of the old guard at Barca and got them working harder but he didn't need to do that at Bayern. He did start to change Bayern tactically and he also adapted to the requirements of a different league but also had his team part with tradition. I hope he will already have been analysing how English football differs from both Spanish and German and be factoring that into his plans for City.

The emphasis on zonal work should become apparent as the season progresses. The team should run more but also move in a more compact way. I think we could see quite a lot of emphasis on wing play in the final third.

I do expect him to focus on winning the league above all else.

Not as difficult a task as you infer considering his physique, intelligence and ability......add into the mix his preference for the position and it becomes even less of an accomplishment.

I expect him to overhaul a lot around the playing side, not just new faces but style of play, fitness, attitude, thats what i am looking forward to the most, and with those success will follow.

Organized, tactical football. Having our wealth of talent play somewhere near to their potential.
