Got given a bottle of Taylor's 10yr old Port today by a customer
I have never tasted it before
I know it's fortified wine but beyond that I know nothing
Should I open it...or give it away?

Bought a bottle of haig clubman yesterday in Morrisons on offer £15, having a chaser with bottles of San Miguel premium that I recently discovered in Lanzarote. Just Googled haig clubman, fucking Beckham part owns it!!!!! Haha, nevermind it's none to bad with a splash of water

Used to drink to odd bottle of Port as a teenager to get sozzled on the cheap, misses uses it now to make steak and Stilton pies, superb
The wife said use it for cooking
I have used lots of booze while cooking over the years, but strangely never had a recipe that required Port
I'll have look now
Cheers.

This is not going to be a big review as I am practising being concise and to the point.
Getting to the punchline without having to wade miserably though plantation after plantation of candy dross.

I have to say this is somewhat unusual having a session on a Saturday because this is where I normally relieve you of all your money when you get proposterously inhebriated after your week in't mill throwing caution to the wind whilst wanking all your sheckles away on wine women and song.
But I am on vacation and living it large ...I'm drifting so here goes nothing.

ShepErd Neames and co India Pale Ale

On offer at asdas four for a fiver representing value for money at circa £1.25 for a smidgions less than a pint.
It's a little on the stronger side so I guess not a session ale @6.1% but good for cleaning the jewelry and silverware afterwards.

An amusing video review below of a pissed up beer afficinado that made me grin.
I cannot dispute his passion for all things hoppy and the kitchen cupboards behind him bear wonderful testiment to his desires.
They also bear testiment to his ocd as the bottles sit like little soldiers in alfabetical order whilst his glasses sit in a seperate shelve in strict order of design with the labels taking pride of place on the middle shelve.
He was as full as a bucket making this video but tried to come across as soberish.
Have a tune in at the 2.10 mark ; ) because what he got most from this beer was a nice amount of Mott.
Now I have supped some wonderous concoctions in my time but never got a mouthful of Mott from any of them !
If ever it happens it will score a solid 5/5 on the aleometer.

This scores quite well from most conessouirs of tradition ales and I do confess this is one of my favourite bottled IP'A's out there.
Its not an American IPA but a Britisher and one full of English hoppy goondness.
As you all are aware the American hops ply there trade with offerings such as Centennial and cascade which impart a citrussy taste to the brew.
The English hops like English Kent Golding and fuggles have an entirely different palate and arre more earthy in their genetic makeup.
In fact I think on the swallow the hops are at the forefront of the taste and there remains nothing wrong with that as the Fuggles work their charm magnificently. Not as sweet as the kent goldings but lovely nevertheless on the palate.
The Fuggle hop is actually the parent of the centenial and cascade that I mentioned a few paragraphs ago but sharing different attrubutess mais oui.
