What Constitutes a Successful Upcoming Season?

Anything other than a PL/CL win is an unsuccessful season given the investment and expectations, but I would be happy with an FA Cup, title challenge and a good CL run as long as the PL doesn't go to Liverpool/United.
 
Whatever happens in the other competitions, retaining the Premier League title is the most important benchmark. It will be incredibly hard but win it and that's good enough.
If i:m going to be greedy, then I would add an FA Cup win in there too
 
For me retaining the Prem is an absolute must. However if we didn't but won the CL that would be classed as success by others

I see the CL as a posh cup competition where a couple of iffy decisions can decide your tie. The Prem is by far and away the measure of a successful season

If we can repeat a double which includes the Prem or the CL, or both, playing the same style of football as last season, that is success

And it would be wonderful to see Foden starting ten/fifteen matches and playing really well in any which he's involved
 
Retaining the title is all I want , oh & thrashing Liverpool at Anfield would be nice.
 
Either prem or CL; preferably retaining the prem with a good CL run.

Things I'd like to see:
Beating United home and away.
Winning at Anfield.
B Silva playing like he did for Portugal v Uruguay
Mendy having an injury free season
John Stones maturing at centre half
Solving the defensive midfield situation
Knocking Real out of CL
Mahrez outscoring Salah
Silva1 winning FA player of the season
Ederson keeping 38 clean sheets in the prem
 
Primary - Retaining the Prem and thus certifying us as one of the greats in this league.

Secondary - 1/4+ Champions league, cup run just so our youth(Foden et al) can get a decent amount of minutes and keep them plus squad players sharp.

Retaining the prem for me. All the talk is of no team doing it since 2009.
If we can achieve it its another box ticked.

If we could win the FA too and do the traditional double that would also put us in a certain bracket.

And although i dont give a big fat one about the champs league i understand how important it is to our owners and the grand scheme of things so a run to the semi’s in that too.
 
Retain the PL as no one has managed it in 10 years. Would also like to see us go for the FA Cup and attempt a domestic double. CL feels like too much of a lottery to realistically say semis or final.

Beating Liverpool, at everything. Would like to win the league or the CL but stopping those self righteous twats is my priority for successful. I'me telling ya, if they win the league this year it wont stop with the press behind them especially.
 
Absolutely retaining the title.

I'd like an FA Cup win, but not at the expense of the main goal. Not fussed about CL.
 
Title defense. Progression in Champions League. Quarter finals minimum and if we get knocked out it should be to a top club and we need to go down fighting.
 
I honestly believe we're one top class midfielder away from winning the Champions League comfortably.

Specially now Real have sold Ronaldo.
