What does our squad need for the coming season?

I think Bernardo is staying, yes. Who’s in for him? I’ve not seen or heard of any club who are in for him this Summer other than that Saudi team but there’s no way I can see Bernardo going there. Who would get anywhere near paying what he’s worth? Barcelona tried with pathetic ideas for bids last year that we laughed at (even City’s valuation for this brilliant player is too low).

There’s more talk of City offering a new contract to Bernardo than there is him being bought by any other club.

And adding strength in depth (which I said myself we needed) is not an overhaul though is it? The lad said we need an overhaul.
PSG are the problem, even more so if Mbappe goes, they have the resources to pay him crazy money, and pay our asking price.

If he does go, I hope it is to PSG.
If they lose Mbappe, along with Messi, they will be even weaker than they are now.
We will get a good fee from PSG from a team who will be less of a threat than they currently are

I'm not sure becoming less star-individual oriented will make PSG weaker overall. Less talented? Yes.Weaker? That's yet to be s. Get rid of the current front 3 and bring in hypothetically Bernardo, Szoboszlai and Kane. All harder working team players. You might end up with a better team with less talent.

PSG as currently ( or as they were with Messi, Mbappe and Neymar) would have almost always been an easy team for us to beat.

You simply can't defend City with 8 men. And that was their M.O

What it needs is for half of the squad to NOT fuck off to roads that are sandy. Way too many on here being blasé about so many potential incomings and outgoings, especially the outgoings. It will mess with the cohesion if any more than 3 main players leave.
Lewis, Macatee, and Palmer are not going to keep us on top of the pile. We will need major surgery, and that always needs recuperation time.
We need Mahrez, Bernie, and especially Kev to stay to keep us challenging.

Oh how i wish you are right but i think he is on his way to PSG, overhaul? yeah your probaby right numbers will show, but since your on put up your second team, with players that actually are pushing for the first team spot. i think this shows better what we need.
My understanding is that Bernardo's girlfriend can't settle outside of a warm Mediterranean style climate.

He wants to keep her happy and wants the right location and sporting challenge.

Non of the above applies to Paris...one third of which is very nice, the other two thirds is a third world ghetto for North African criminals and degenerates.

Only that violent shit hole on the Med coast is worse.

Bernard stays until FC Franco or the debtors of Catalonia sell their arses again !!

Keeping players like Bernardo and walker is the primary aim. After that, i still think we need a sterling replacement. By that I mean a versatile pacy winger who's going to be a bit different from the rest, someone who moves off the ball, can get in behind and supply haaland from out wide.

If plan A which won us a treble stops working for us at any point next season, the players we currently have doesn't give umucany options in terms of changing it up. Get a game changing winger in and keeping or adequately replacing anybody we lose is all we need.

Would like to see us fill the squad with a couple highly thought of youngsters in the alvarez mould.

There are only 2 potential starers leaving. And 3-4 squad players. It's a lot but we can manage.

It's Gundo and potentially Berny.

As it stands, Kovacic replaces Gundo and Phil takes the starting spot In the middle.

If Bernardo leaves then Phil goes to RW until we get a new starter and Kovacic/Alvarez takes up the 8/10 role.

Everyone else leaving isn't a starter. Sure, some are key squad members like Walker, and Mahrez and their production will need to be covered.

But I don't think it's as crazy If we bring in Kovacic, Gvardiol, and another attacking mid

I think you are underestimating the effect of losing players like Walker and Mahrez.
The whole team is a finely tuned machine, with component parts knowing each others roles. That is why we can lose a player like Kev in a chumps final and still play at 100%.
Losing too many players who make the system work so successfully will cause a drop in performances. For sure.
Bringing in quality replacements is inevitable, but as we know, the new players adapting to the system takes time, and Pep has to begin to trust them to be what he wants them to be.
Our system is based on muscle memory. If we make too many changes, too quickly, it will not work.
