What famous fans do we have?

Not sure if many in UK have heard of Ivan Yates.
He is an Irish ex politician and use to have a string of betting shops.
He is still on tv but had his own radio show for many years.
During the sports parts of the show he'd have guests on, reviewing upcoming football fixtures. He used to go overboard sometimes in support of City , belittling his guests, particularly United and Liverpool ex players.
Paddy Crerand was one of these and got so annoyed with the slagging he was getting that he got the huff and refused to come on the programme.
The most common guest for the football reviews was Phil Thompson. Yates would abuse him non stop for his association with Liverpool , often to the extent that Thompson would end up distraught at the end of the interview.

Once big rumours Rick was going to buy City, his money would have had the same impact as the sheiks at the time, I remember often thinking about us winning the Treble, being in Europe every season, then just laughing at how ridiculous I was being
Ha Yes I think Mr Wakeman has had a few financial worries himself down the years. I doubt he ever had the leverage to buy us.
Sweet Dreams :-) boom

Longsight lad and a proper blue, a great story

Sat next to him at a CL game. Nice bloke. Wasn’t a Dzeko fan though !

Who cares?

Let them enjoy as we do.
Respect privacy unless they wish to make it known like the Gallagher Bros and Rick Wakeman.
Respect to them for declaring their alliegence before 2007.

My admiration always lies with those who invest with lower clubs and their supporters. I have always followed the City ups and downs since the late 1950's. Even me now gets upset when we lose. Expectaton, entitlement or what?

All I lnow is that I am loving it. Who cares in this day and age what any celeb or media influencer thinks?

I've never heard of Ivan Yates, but he sounds like a real top fella.

Used to know some passionate Dundee Utd fans whilst working in Stockport in the 90s who claimed Christian Dailly was a big City fan.

He’s a regular on the Man City podcast follows City all over
He certainly does follow City all over, saw him at City vs Southampton at St Marys, had a quick chat, pleasant friendly chap.
