Sorry to be cynical but you all know the answer.

In Prestwich the other day, 14 people were involved in a crash between a car and a minibus. No one was badly injured but it made the national papers. Yet a young woman and child are supposedly killed and a toddler seriously injured in an horrific crash but not even a sniff in the local papers?

Local reporters and press agencies work closely with the local police and other emergency services. There's a big blue I know (and probably known to quite a few on here) who makes his living from picking up stories like this from the emergency services (mainly fires and big accidents) and tipping off insurance assessors and the press. So there's simply no way a story like this wouldn't get reported.

Now - what were those words that BB2.0 got banned for using?

admittedly i found it strange there was no coverage, i work for an emergency service and we have a phone call every week from our local newpaper asking for reports of any major (sometimes not even major, to fill column space) incidents...

If he made it all up then that is regrettable to say the least. To say I would be very disappointed with the guy is a huge understatement.

And de niro, you have nothing at all to feel a fool about mate.
I know you are a doting dad yourself and I still can't get my head around why someone would make up something like that about their own kids, if that is indeed what happened,

De Niro you dont look like a mug at all. I remember it all very clearly,, i offered to go and meet him as well and i think i spoke to you via PM late that night when it had happened. I was devastated for the guy, i think city had been beat earlier that day and i remember saying it just puts things into perspective. If it was made up, the guy should hang his head in shame, if not, then im quite worried about him, not been on since so anything could have happened to him, hope he is ok.

If I remember correctly, a couple of rags came on here to look into the story further. Anyway, they showed a picture that 'The fixer' had posted about half a year before the incident. It showed him to be a young man, possible mid twenties and yet he had claimed to be in his 30's. Tbh I think the whole story was bull.

I honestly felt for the lad when i first read it, but the evidence (rags phoned road services etc) just points to the fact the he probably made it up.

I seem to remember they tried to blame De Niro, making claims like "In one of De Niros (the actor) films he there is a character that makes up stories called the fixer". Their claims against De Niro were all lies, didn't add up at all.

Also De Niro didn't look like a mug at all, I really respected the fact he was willing to go to his house and comfort him as I'm sure did the other posters of the site.

An elaborate hoax i should think.
