What happened to the fella off here who.....

Wherever he is, and whatever he is doing, I believe that speculation over the truth may never be revealed, but as blues we just need to wish him well and hope that either way he is ok, that is the main thing.
I hope it was a moment of madness and a wind up so a fellow blue did not lose his family, as nobody could ever wish that upon anybody else. So, Fixer, if you're reading we all wish you well.
As for de niro, you were heroic that night, I remember reading what was going on and added it to the long list of why us blues are different to other clubs, we are a community, and events like this one puts everything into perspective.

It's entirely up to individuals what they think. Personally, I think it was one big hoax. Said so at the time, still think the same to this day.

The fact that we'd been knocked out of the Carling Cup semi-final only hours earlier by the rags leads me to believe it was a hoax - that spiraled much further than intended. I believe it was meant to diffuse the match result only hours earlier.

If it was a wind up,then congratulations. You win because at the time,it really got to me and I suspect anyone on bluemoon who has lost relatives or has children will have not been able to get it out of their thoughts for a while after it first unfolded. We all make cliched, throw away remarks at times like "I feel for you mate" or "You're in my thoughts" without genuinley meaning it. This episode was different in as much that lots of posters wrote with real concern and offers of assistance(particularly de niro) for an annonymous friend in a time of great need.
There is only one way to find out if this was a hoax or not and that is to note the date of the alledged incident and ask the highways agency or the police if they have a record of this occuring. If it did occur, not only does fixer still have my heartfelt sympathy, but also a sincere apology. If it's a hoax, seek professional psycological help.

He was in court facing charges about the bottling incident and then this story comes out.

No reports anywhere and he makes sure they club doesn't find out about the story and anyone else?

I think he was lying and is in prison right now. Therefore I can't see him being under a new username or it being a sick joke while he is laughing at the responses.

I'm sorry but if your wife and kids die I can't see you loading up a computer to tell a load of random people on the internet.

I've already put my view on this on a previous page but just to state once more -
Imagine (and its of course a horrible scenario to imagine) that you've just found out that your spouse and child has died.
Do you immediately curl up into a ball and cry solidly for weeks?

Of course you dont. Only seconds earlier you were making a pasta meal and thinking about whether to get a few beers in for that nights telly.
You cannot, as a human being, immediately absorb that kind of change instantly.

You are, in effect, like a boxer who's just taken one hell of a smack and, instead of falling to the canvas, you attempt to continue to stand and take the impact of the blow.
Punch-drunk basically.
We've all seen such boxers do that. They flail and blindly grope around, their arms reaching out for the ropes or the referees shoulders. Anything to support them up for a while longer.

Coming onto a football forum is precisely what I'd imagine I would do in a similar situation to The Fixer. I would also probably type soemthing out on Facebook. Phone a mate. I would be numb and acting erratically, immediately seeking out normality in a surreal nightmare.

Then - once I'd been to the hospital and reality began to hit home - you wouldnt hear from me again for quite some considerable time.

Each to there own i guess, delicate subject, suppose we will never find the truth out!

Taking a wild shot here as I didn't notice the thread when it appeared.

Perhaps after the frantics of the semi final and City getting knocked out, the board were merely putting everything into perspective. ie. losing in a situation like that is not the end of the world. But losing family could well be.

Or else he was telling the truth and I wish him the utmost strenght and courage to go on!

Am I loosing my marbles here or what? Just when was the thread made?

People are saying it was directly after the carling cup semi when we got knocked out? But that was last season and the fixer was posting transfer rumours all summer?!

I've never commented on the absence of any news coverage concerning the crash.
Because I dont know much about such things.

I've never given my personal view about whether I believe the accident to be true or not.
Because I dont want to speculate on it and because there is simply no way of me knowing either way.

But quite often I've seen people use the 'Well I (or the missus) said it was really fishy how he posted on an internet forum so soon after hearing the news' and used that as some kind of proof that its a hoax.
In this area I do know what I'm talking about. I'm a fully trained counsellor.
In this area - in my opinion - people potentially have got it completely arse over tit.
