What has the UK become?

I listen to lbc nowadays. Most of what they say resonates worth me, but not all of it. I have a lot of time for James Obrien in particular though.

But when I don't agree with what he's saying, iv noticed his tactics (usually in phone ins) is exactly the same as the right wing commentators ... steer the conversation down a dead end where only his pov can be the correct one... Its completely annoying and nowhere near finding the truth or a common ground. So fucking bored of it, so bored of all this polemisation (I hope that's a word, I learnt it on here the other day).

The world is crying out for someone who isn't extreme left or right but wants find common ground, and listens and takes on board all sides of the argument because as we all know the truth, the answers, are always somewhere in the middle.

Right back to fixing my parquet floor!
Funnily enough he calls it footballication.
I know he does it occasionally but for the most part he lets contributors hang themselves with their own lack of logic and intellectual rigour.

It's become a pharmaceutical state with a corrupt government and media.....

It's a hypochondriac's wet dream.

It's a place where genocide is seen as fair game and you are attacked for being against it.

Every day, when I venture forth into this sceptred isle, I find things to admire and appall.
I see things like the new Forth road bridge, shiny and sleek, a marvellous piece of engineering indeed. The approaches are well signposted and maintained. From this bridge you can glimpse the Forth rail bridge, another magnificent structure.
Road and rail engineering at its' best.
Then you travel further, it doesn't matter in which direction you go, and you get into an alternative world. A world in which the roads are potholed and crumbling - signs fading, obscured and sometimes smashed.
The railways, once welcoming, reliable and robust are anything but these days. Passengers are now no more than customers and treated as a necessary nuisance.
Ok, there was always an occasional late running train but now it is more than an 'occasiona'l event!
Trains are cancelled on a whim, a member of traincrew is unavailable or a fault with the train are examples.
Stations can be shabby and bleak to the point of being dangerous at night.
In most towns and cities there are homeless people, mendicants and drug abusers existing among the well heeled and smartly dressed.
In my simple mind, everyone should have a warm home, food, water and access to medical care as necessary.
So there you have it, 'broken Britain' and the sad part is much of it could be repaired with the will and planning applied.

far right anti immigration protests - food rationing - RUC officers being shot again - thats just a few things and thats in the last few days - the Tories are ripping this country into tatters

Someone grab a paper bag, he is hyperventilating.
