Not true. Mancini would've gone no matter who was in charge because his relationship with everyone at the club was fucked. It's a shame that this myth is going to continue to be perpetuated endlessly. They chose his replacement, but ultimately Mancini going was solely Mancini's doing.
He was sacked under their management so they're likely to cop some flack for that rightly or wrongly.
It seems to me that most Blues are behind them at the moment and the fans reaction to them is likely, initially at least, to depend on the success of the man they have appointed and their dealings in the transfer market. I have my doubts but I'm usually wrong anyway.
Mancini would probably argue the club changed the terms of his engagement. Fair enough, but you said "they got rid of our most successful manager" etc. when they didn't, he got rid of himself. They had to pick a replacement, so yeah, for that they can be criticised if you don't rate Pellegrini.
