What is a good salary?

No mortgage or other debts means my salary of around 35 k is sufficient for my wife and I to live relatively comfortably.

The cost of living increases have made us a bit more careful however.
It's the people having to pay rent,and/or trying to get a foot on the housing ladder I feel sorry for.

Virtually impossible in London. People way into their thirties, now, pulling down what would once have been considered biggish salaries. Two bedroom flat definitely beyond them, in anything like a decent area. One bedroom flat just about possible, but then if you want have a kid/kids? I'm talking about people I know, here.
They just need to stop going starbucks and cancel netflix dont they

It's the people on fixed incomes like pensioners that will suffer whilst inflation busting payrises fuel further inflation.
