People way into their thirties, now, pulling down what would once have been considered biggish salaries. Two bedroom flat definitely beyond them, in anything like a decent area. One bedroom flat just about possible, but then if you want have a kid/kids? I'm talking about people I know, here.
It's the people on fixed incomes like pensioners that will suffer whilst inflation busting payrises fuel further inflation.No mortgage or other debts means my salary of around 35 k is sufficient for my wife and I to live relatively comfortably.
The cost of living increases have made us a bit more careful however.
It's the people having to pay rent,and/or trying to get a foot on the housing ladder I feel sorry for.
