What Is lacking?

Pace, Fitness and Ability. Too many lack one or two of these.

Sterling lacks Ability
KDB lacks Fitness
Gundogan lacks Pace and Fitness
Mahrez lacks Pace and Fitness
Zinchenko lacks Pace
Bernardo lacks Pace
Rodri lacks Pace and Fitness

Strangely the often criticised Jesus's and Walker both have Pace, Fitness and Ability, as do Stones and Dias.

I think Cancelo also has the key attributes and his timing of a tackle is exceptional. What he perhaps lacks is a little concentration.

Fernandinho, even at 36, puts most of them to shame. Foden has everything in bundles.

It really is time to invest ìn more youth and give Delap and Palmer a chance.
What absolute bullshit.

You can add Cancelo,Rodri, and Ake (Baffling buy)to that list.
You can lambast me for saying it but those players are a level below what we require.
Dress it up anyway you like but in Cancelo and Rodris case the fact Pep had stopped selecting them as regulars tells you all you need to know.
The figures you quote above are fantasy in the here and now.
Rodri’s had a marvellous season

It's like Sterling and Jesus. If we are going to go for a complete revamp to freshen up our attack we possibly need to shift them on before their stock falls too. The problem is out there who can afford their fee or wages? One or both could be used in part exchange for Kane but would they want to go to Spurs?

Jesus might. I can’t see Sterling going there and I can’t see them paying him what he will want. Problem is if we sell Jesus we will need 2 strikers. Mahrez has only got 2 years left too. Maybe he might go. Should be an interesting summer

Yes I don't think anyone is safe up front for sure. It of course depends on who we can get in. I have no idea if Delap is going to make it but someone breaking through from the academy could be a bonus.

A bit of perspective from the entitled arseholes whinging on this thread.

Yes City only won the Premier League, the League Cup while finishing runners up in the Champions League and Semi-finalists in the FA Cup..

What a load of whining moaners!

I'm not one to lambast mate, just enjoy debating it :)

We know it's just not possible to have 22 world class players in every position. Some players will be good, but we'll never be able to have (say) Kane on the bench in case Messi is injured :)

Anyway, your deadwood list is slightly different to mine, but here's my thoughts on your list:

I agree on Cancelo and would be happy to see him go, but I don't think we'd lose too much on him to be honest. He's shown glimpses of being superb at times this season, but he's just not consistent enough for me. I wouldn't be surprised to see him have a good Euros and probably get a large amount back for him.

I don't agree on Rodri though, I think he's a great player. He is always available for a pass, rarely gives a bad pass and gives us some height. He's a clever player, rarely injured and keeps the team ticking. When he doesn't play, I don't think we have the same ability to change defence into midfield without him.

I don't think we can judge Ake on this season. He's been injured and never really been given much of a chance. I don't think he's a bad player at all, but given the ways Stones and Dias have played, not even Laporte has a chance against them two! :) I know people will look at the £40m fee, but who else could we buy for that amount of money?

I think it's fair to say that Corona has changed everyones view's on what a player is worth. I think we'll only really know once a few players move around. Unfortunately, because we have plenty of money, fees will be higher than other clubs might pay (eg Ake). However, if the Sheikh is happy to pay it, I'm happy too.

If we all agreed on players and tactics etc, football wouldn't be half as much fun! Hope you're having a good night :)

Why not try 3 atb. That seemed to be the anwser to chelseas 3 atb and we have 3 top quality cbs to do it. We have a great wing back in walker and cancelo, in the middle we could have rodri, gundo, kdb, foden/silva, and up top kane or halaand. Mahrez, mendy, and sterling sold and mostly everyone is happy

Oh I'm grand Thanks. The problem I have with Rodri is he's slightly slow of foot and mind.
Ake isn't a bad player a bit expensive for back up though,
We need to get a bit of pace back into the side somehow, Even Bernardo needs to add a bit more to his game than whats he's been asked to do, He's another that hasn't the speed to beat his man.
Anyway the Seasons over and we can't turn back the clock.
Time to relax for a few months.
