What Is lacking?

Silva and Mahrez should be absolutely untouchable. Even Laporte given Stones injury record - if he's got anything about him he would stay and fight for his position as Stones has done. I can understand Jesus to some extent as i think he will always be in and out the side but then again given we play 60+ games a year he's still likely to start in 30 or so at least.

Players may need some post Chumps League counselling to clear their heads before the new season starts.

Councelor? ... come out, come out wherever you are, Mr Councelor!

We're the only side in Europe that consistently changes system. UCL is about starting 11's and familiarity; something that cannot be achieved with the different shapes we play.

Spurs away in '18, Pep decides to play a 4231 formation, with players like Mahrez who weren't on good form, Lyon in '19, a 3 back which proved disastrous. Now we played with Gundogan as a single pivot (a role he hasn't played in 2 years), Sterling who is out of form and moved Foden inside. This is not how you win the CL, you cannot make radical changes on a game-by-game basis.

A bit of perspective from the entitled arseholes whinging on this thread.

Yes City only won the Premier League, the League Cup while finishing runners up in the Champions League and Semi-finalists in the FA Cup..

What a load of whining moaners!
Imagine if we had a deflected shot and a dubious penalty for 2 goals and won that one. These kinds of pity party threads would not exist and even Sterling will be hailed as a genius. No other club in the PL is capable of getting themselves in the position City does season after season. We'll be right up there next season too. I do think though we are stretching ourselves too thin. Maybe next year we prioritize winning FA and CL and let someone else win Carabao Cup. Winning the classic treble next year would be lovely.

It felt like we needed a proper captain Saturday, with a juggernaut of a performance to boot.

Was hoping someone would step up to the plate but it never happened.

Vinny should have brought his boots along!

Simple. Pep messed up and the players were lost because of him changing what worked! So what was lacking? Nothing, Pep just needed to stick to the winning formula!

I don't buy the 'not having a striker' cost us. We could have won this game if we had started with Ferna or even Rodri!

This one is on Pep! Love him but he got it all wrong again in the CL

So in conclusion, a bit clarity and common sense.

As a club a team you always have to improve but come on what’s lacking?!
If we are lacking what does it says to the rest of premier/Europe!? We played 61 games out of a possible 62 won the league by a mile won four on the trot league cups! Sell a player or two bring in two and we be favourites for every trophy again next season..
