For a small Island we’ve done OK I would say in basically setting the template for western democracy which has influenced the entire world whilst also being at the forefront of most of the technological and medical innovations of the past and are at the cutting edge of research into the technologies of the future. That’s not to mention the magnificent art we’ve produced in these islands -past and present from Shakespeare to Fawlty Towers to a whole mass of blockbuster computer games etc
