What was the last vinyl record you bought?

Spent yesterday afternoon at a mates Uncles house. This is a good mate, someone I've holidayed with etc etc and he only told me that his Uncle dealt in records 3 days ago. It slipped his mind! This Uncle doesn't do online and only sells at car boots etc etc so I was a little dubious.

Until I saw what he had. Sure he had the usual rubbish but there is also boxes and boxes of decent stuff. 3 rooms in his house full of it. The garage is full of carry cases. I barely made a dent and spent 200 quid on 30 albums. Albums that included the original Quadrophenia, Delicate Sounds of Thunder etc etc all for very cheap prices. I tried to give him fair prices but he wasn't having it...I need the space mate...I know what I paid...just want to make a little profit...

We've arranged to go back. Very soon. There's rooms I've not even set foot in.
It's great when you see collections like that. We have few record shops here in Bournemouth all asking to buy vinyl but they offer silly prices in general. The old school record shops are great, I remember one in Nottingham where he had them all in cardboard boxes , literally from the floor to ceiling. No order whatsoever, possibly shut down now by health and safety

Down your way next week, Chichester is covered, but I'm in the forest after that for a while. Any recommendations re shops?

New Forest area, not a lot. Bournemouth and Poole have a few. In Chichester area are you going near worthing( only about 10 miles away) as there is a shop called Music Mania and owner is a City fan. Are you aware of Harbour records in Emsworth
If your travel includes Bournemouth let me know and will message you some. If you have time here there is a good record shop in Bridport ( clocktower music) , run by a tranmere fan.Lymington has some good charity shops if you like trawling them.

A gold double disc awaits as well if you want. Acoustic on the 2nd disc.

I went for this one as fancied a listen to the acoustic session as well. Get 10% off if you sign up to the record store shop

The yellow vinyl signed one was limited but guess they will have standard one also. Their tour looks almost sold out now

Yes, they've done well with their tour.

Fortunately I'm going to the Victoria Warehouse gig with my tickets which were originally for Gorilla pre pandemic!

Hopefully the band will rightly reap their rewards having sat on the sidelines for a year or so.

I'm going to Arundel at some point so might pop into Worthing. Chichester has three shops, 2 second hand and one new stock only, so I'm ok there. As I used to live and work in this area for many a year so I'm sort of covered but I've never hunted in Bournemouth area. The Bridport one has always been on my list of shops I should visit but never have...I'll try to get there this time out.

The Bridport one i like as it has a nice vibe and bit of a psychedelic vibe to it. If you ever make it there look out for the bloke out the back who renovates old hi fi's etc.

Bournemouth itself has none really in the centre. Boscombe has 3 - Rose Red in the arcade( cds and vinyl), Snu-peas on the corner and Vinilio( more trendy and newer stuff)
In Upper Parkstone you have Big Brother records( old school vinyl and cd's)
Poole has 2 - Red Rock records ( small but lot of vinyl/cd's) and Boiler Room ( down by Quay - big Bowie fan, lots of Bowie plus newer stuff on vinyl and cd)

Analogue was closed last time I was there, possibly due to covid. Time Machine and Helter-skelter i like , HS I preferred before he put his stuff on newer racks as hard to move around his shop and look. When I moved away in the 80s there was a cracking record shop in Bognor run by an Irish bloke who looked like Alan Bleasdale

I remember him, opposite Edward Bryant school-ish. When I first met my missus she worked at that school so instead of standing outside waiting for her looking like a paedo I'd go in and browse. His stock was crammed in.

Harry who runs Time Machine is one of my best mates, will be there over next weekend a lot, and in the pub over the road, and out for dinner with him...Analogue was open the other month when I went down.

Yeah I guessed analogue was down to covid etc as was a newish shop. Not really been in time machine much but remember it had a bit of a 60s mod vibe. Helter Skelter i like his stock but he needs either less on display or bigger aisles. Probably not easy due the cost of rent etc.I used to work in what was the dolphin and anchor- now Spoons/Waterstones. They used to have a good real ale/music festival in Chichester. James Brown let us in for free one year.
