What was the terrace fashion on the Kippax in the 1980s?

I’d forgotten about that, I’m sure it’s been mentioned before on here. Truman’s for Steel advert and stood on the Kippax in winter darkness seeing cigarettes being lit in the Main Stand every second, like a moving light show.
Yes I remember th Main stand from the Kippax my first game was 62,think they would have been pipes more than cigs.

I remember seeing a few people 'dressed as bus drivers' going through the Kippax turnstiles on a Saturday afternoon.
Obviously drivers who had finished their early shifts, and one definitely had their mornings 'takings' in that box/safe/cash register thing! (dropping it at the depot on the way home maybe?)Often wondered if anyone ever tried to nick that box with all those 5p and 10p coins in, and how they'd explain that to their gaffer at GM buses! Had to admire their efforts to get to the game though!
Obviously wouldn't happen at The Etihad, mind you it was probably smaller than an A4 sized bag !!

Just bought a Fred Perry Cagoule jacket and I love it.

I have quite a few Fila and Sergio Tacchini T shirts. I feel outclassed by all the CP Company and Stone Island stuff these days so I wear Belstaff too to mix it up.

The Kippax, 1989 - and that's my wife in front of me....and she still wears that same bloody red coat today (never quite got with the 'blue' thing)...

Those divs were still in Bay City Roller gear. Fucking ages before they caught on.
Nearly got a kicking at Burnley off some blues back in the 70s. I was a huge Rod and the Faces fan and was wearing a royal Stewart tartan scarf and was accused of being a rag. Luckily I had a City silk scarf in my crombie pocket. Used to love my check shirt jacket from Stolen from Ivors back in the day, purely a Manc thing never saw them on the Fylde coast.

Stan Butler likes this post !!

Well I bought most of my clobber from Gangsgear in the Arndale then. Mostly provided by ford standards for kids in the know...Everyone's Bill...Nod to Bfth...
Gansgear in the Arndale was a decent shop. From what I remember it was around the Halle Square bit. I bought a pair of adidas gazelle from there in the mid-80's.

When I very first went, aged 6-7, in the Platt Lane, my Dad used to take the piss because I spent more time counting the lighter flashes in the dark of the Kippax than watching the match. I'd totally forgotten that. Great memory.
