Right back - Alexander-Arnold a shoe in unfortunately, probably along with James at Chelsea. Can't see Walker making it.
Centre back - Stones a cert. Next to him, slim pickings. Be tempted to slot Henderson or Rice in there next to him. But we all know it'll be slabhead.
Left back - One of Chilwell or Shaw.
Midfield - One of Henderson/Rice, 2 of Foden/Grealish/Mount/Ward-Prowse. Don't rate Maddison that highly, flatters to deceive.
Wingers - Strongest area. Sterling starts with one of Rashford, Sancho, Saka.
Striker - Kane starts, one of Ings or Calvert-Lewin sub.

I remember how much I cared when Colin Bell played for England. Nowadays not so much. Would certainly like to see Walker, Stones, Foden and Sterling start. Grealish looks good too. The rest, meh.

I was the same with Barnes and Watson to start, in fact I loved watching England until the golden generation wore me down. Now I’m wanting them to get beat a lot of the time. The Iceland fiasco was met with much laughter in a pub in Spain I was in, no anger or disappointment.
