What's the difference between Cancelo's foul and TAA's 'challenge'?

He's only about 9yds wide of the corner of the goal in that frame about 4.5yds from the touchline which makes it around 10yds from goal. If he shoots left footed there he's still got a lot of goal to aim for and Alison seems to have his weight going in the wrong direction. Without the elbow in his back there is more than a decent chance of him getting a shot on target and every chance of the keeper not getting to it.

Having had a good look at it I think he's just as good a chance of getting to it as the Cancelo foul, but more than willing to have given the Ref the benefit of the doubt if he'd have given the pen and not a red card ;-)
I’d give it up Mr Trevor. No one is even trying to suggest it is a DOGSO outside of a few people on here.

He wasn’t clean through on goal, like Wilson was.

Let's wait and see how the season pans out shall we?

I'm not ruling out a similar incident in a similar position being given as a pen/red card before this season is out.

No he didn’t, it was a penalty! Enough of this narrative
I didn’t say it wasn’t a pen, I said it was an extremely generous pen and it was definitely ‘won’ by kdb.

Given the far more obvious and blatant fouls that I’ve seen arsenal suffer without a pen, and other teams such as spurs/Trent, it was definitely soft. I’d be saying the same if an arsenal player won a pen like that, whilst still being fully happy with it.

There’ll always be difference tolerance levels though. Even with the same referee. A local derby will be reffed differently to a mid table nothing match. You could argue every game should be refereed the same, but it’s impossible.
I was thinking something more sinister in that game to be fair. His 'performance' stank the place out.
