What's the most shocking thing you've seen?

When I was five and out on Stockport Rd. in Ashton a wagon carrying sheet metal braked sharply and the load shifted.
A sheet came off backwards and decapitated a motorbike rider,I'm 46 now and can remember it all, as though it was yesterday.
His head was rolling in the gutter and my mam fainted and somehow we went into the butchers and he gave her some brandy and an elderly lady kept me from looking outside as the Ambulance took the body away.

Wasn't that a scene from The Omen?



Only if they shot the film in Ashton in the late sixties,if the bloody reporter had an online archive I'd put that up.

Blue Maverick, that's because you do do fuck all apart from put toasters/chip pans out, rescue cats and put smoke alarms up. Water fairies are the best treated, least worked emergency service who mostly have second jobs, I make sure if I'm passing one of your stations at 2-3 am to put the sirens on so you guys remember what they sound like!

I use to go in as i only live 2 mins away,would always talk to the old geezer in the yard he is a top blue(forgot his name)..

Now i wouldnt even buy a wall plug from them.

Recently, I showed my wife footage of one of those Iraq hostage be-headings. She was really upset and couldn't sleep properly for days. I think for me, it has to be that poor little Chinese girl being run over and ignored by everyone.

Why would you ever show such a video to your wife? Were you trying to be funny, or proving to her that there are much worse things than living with you?

I don't understand the mentality of people who watch stuff like this or show other people. I think half the time it is an (totally misplaced) ego trip thing. Somewhere in the dark recesses they are thinking that it makes them some sort of 'up for it' unshockable hero if they will watch anything. Which is pretty funny seeing as all they are doing is clicking a button whilst sat in their armchair in their underpants.

This sounds melodramtic but I honestly reckon that every time some dick takes the decision to watch gruesome shit like this the human race becomes a little bit worse. Desensitising yourself is not a good thing and their are plenty of studies that will back up how it changes mentalities for the worse.
