Whats the most useless piece of technology ever invented ?

one that really boils my piss is this new garden mower which has a button to make it quiet when you want, why not just make it fucking permanently quiet! phew rant over

I'm not sure about useless, but I think the electrical item that is "Bought, used once then never used again" is possibly the toasted sandwich maker.

Our microwave gets used occasionally, but honestly who has ever used the grill thing they all come with now? we used it once, and it made the house smell like it was on fire. Pile of shit

The most useless thing I have ever owned though, has to be an imitation electric guitar thing. Since I was completely inept at playing any musical instrument, I saw this on the gadget show and wanted one. Instead of having strings it has buttons that when pressed produce chords and whatever else. Shame that its a complete pile of shit then. Complete waste of £20

the current electric cars....anyone see 5th gear a couple of weeks ago where they attempted to do an electric car run from newcastle to london. They had only done 100miles before they needed a 6hr charge up. It took over 24 hours to get from newcastle to derby, where they eventually gave up and called the AA
