Probably Chorlton in my opinion.

Surely it has to be the border between Moss Side and Rusholme within walking distance of the hallowed ground.

Eastlands is a great stadium but boy do I miss the place.

Having lived inside the Manchester boundry for the majority of my life, Didsbury and West Didsbury are the nicest parts of Manchester to live. Unfortunately, you need a serious amount of cash to buy a house around there, so most realistic people move out to Greater Manchester or Stockport.

Nicest places to live in these areas are Sale, Altrincham, Hale, Lymm, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Marple, Glossop, Whaley Bridge, Macclesfield. Alot of people on here live in Cheadle and Cheadle Hulme, but don't bother moving there because the planes landing at the airport fly so low over your house the pilot can change the channel on your TV.

Ahem ...

A lot of those are in *Cheshire* and probably more expensive than anywhere in Manchester.

Wilmslow and Alderley Edge are miles away from the flight path.

Alderley Edge isn't even in Greater Manchester, never mind Manchester.

I used to get the 192 to Slade Lane and walk up that way. I hope it's calmed down around there, now. I ended up moving to Baghdad for a more peaceful life.

It's a veritable Oasis of Calm nowadays, compared to many other places nearby.

That's good. I was glad to get out and live somewhere with more to do locally (Rusholme / Fallowfield border) but I've still largely got good memories of Longsight. I used to be able to walk to Maine Road from Dickenson Road, too. That always helped.

Used to buy Meat & Potato Pies from one stall. There was also a Lad with a Head bag that was useful when I smoked Marlboro Lights. Long kicked the filthy habit now.
