10-1 formation ? you mean 10 men in goal ? We won't be able to score goals like that. We'll end up relegated.
A 10 formation is possible but difficult to play. Ajax played this formation from 1969 to 1973. Dutch natioal team also used it in 1974 worldcup.
It's a chaos type of football where any player can move into any position.
Watch Bayern, they have proved width and pace can be the most effective tactic as well as the most entertaining.badman said:Mr Ed (The Stables) said:alib said:We need more width not to play even narrower
Pace and I mean rapid speed is the key to this, our squad needs an overhaul Barry, and Garcia are just too slow, navas, bale, lennon, thats the type of speed required and we just don't have that at the moment. I'm sure Pelligrini will know how to rectify it I am just getting the embers smouldering again by what lies in store.
the owners want man city to play the type of football played by barcelona. attractive football not the ugly kind played by united. Chelsea used to play ugly football and have changed a bit.
obviously by playing direct football you increase your chances of winning the premierleague , but for the guys at the top it's not only about winning, it's also about playing the kind of football that people want to watch.
I think the club will be more likely to employ a common philosophy, which is based around attractive, exciting, ball-retention football. The system is actually a more flexible idea, whichever should be used by the manager dependant on the situation.Matt the Giant said:From the man himself:

He obviously sees the 4-5-1 as a defensive formation, which he rarely used against much stronger sides.
Just remember the way Manuel will play the team, is a way which will have to be decided by the club, as in Txiki primarily. A system to be implemented at all levels, from senior side down to toddler, and even our dear sibling in Ne York.
So will it be Txiki's 4-3-3 or will Pellegreni be the architect of the Manchester City way of playing football.

Personally I don't think Txiki should dictate, nor fixate ourselves upon a single formation. Mentality, philosophy, yes. System-wise, no.
