whats with the bee ?!?!

A GREY KIT, but how would we see each other and would WE be able to change it at half time???

Feck me lived here all my 31 years and never noticed the fecking bee's around town or that it was on our coat of arms!!!! Cant wait to get to a cup final and see the badge on the shirt again as Cook said last week.
Dont know about anyone else but love the fact City and Umbro have given these shirts some serious thought and produced something with meaning rather than just something to sell to the punters because it looks nice. The away kit = Bee's and the City as a Hive of activity plus symbolises world export (City as a brand in this case), the Blue and White kits = a return to our old fglory days, plain and simple with a touch of class. The badge being sown on rather than just printed or glued on.
Hat's off to the club and Umbro, we now have professional looking kit and history in our shirts to match the history and pride being made on the pitch next season.
*wipes tear from eye* Sniff.

The Bee is the symbol of Manchester! You'll se it at the town hall, on Boddi's stuff, on the roadside posts all over the city centre! They're everywhere!

They symbolise that Mancunians are a hard working breed - as in worker bee's!

I love the fact Umbro sat down with the scum and left us for them years ago. Strange how things turn round. All City fans should knowa little Manchester history and they would know about the Bees.

I'm sorry I lead a sheltered life... I will sit all day today and research the Bee's in Manchester. I hang my head in shame I'm 31 and didnt know a thing about my fair City (the place not the team).
*phones parents to kick off*

Honestly never noticed the bee's either and thought i was well up on our industrial heritage :( On a side note i really like the black kit and thought it was because of St Marks.

The Bee symbol comes form the days of the Industrial Revolution and was meant to symbolise Manchester as a 'hive of activity'

This mosaic is in Manchester Town Hall and if you look around you'll find it all over the place in town.

That looks more like a wasp!
