What's worse, horrifying relegation battles or terrifying title chases?

Didn't expect much anticipatory pre- match day horror this, season even as recently 3 weeks ago. More mediocrity and maybe an FA Cup Final. I certainly wasn't worried about having to dive behind the sofa at odd moments or por accidently on purpose sit on the remote for 10 seconds at deliberately convenient moments of potential
horror just to to turn the TV off as if that somehow stops potential disaster.. But you have to be grateful,, innit, 'cos the alternative is worse. So I prefer the horror of the title chase.what do others think?

We're in the fortunate position of coming out on top in every one of the title chases that's gone down to the wire from 2012 onwards. Based on that, I'll say that relegation battles are definitely worse but I reserve the right to change my mind should the day come (hopefully it never will) that we miss out on the title in painful circumstances!

It’s horrible both ways. Am getting used to this bit of the season now tho. Suspect competing on 3 fronts will ultimately be beyond us but hope we bags the league

Without doubt relegation battles, there were many times and it almost happened that we'd never ever get back...and we lost some of those battles as well.

Love fighting at the top with the hatred and pain from whoever we're head to head with through.

We’re all different, but from my point of view I simply love title races like this. The combination of every game mattering, the thrill of chasing/being chased, this wonderful group of players delivering (so far) every time, and the weather improving/the days getting longer and longer all combine to make me feel so alive.

And the jeopardy of it all definitively plays a part too, because without that it wouldn’t matter as much, or feel as good to succeed at the end of it.

Winning the title like we did in 2012, 2014, 2019 and 2022 has to represent the pinnacle of being a football supporter. Most fans don’t experience that once, never mind on multiple occasions.

I simply don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t enjoy such an experience. Even if we fall slightly short this season, if we go on and win every PL game and Arsenal hold on I know I’ll still have loved the ride and the emotions it will inevitably throw up. So personally, I simply love the run-in, and the tenser the better, with 2019 representing the apex, although this season could still top it.

As a football supporter it doesn’t get any better than this, and because it won’t last forever I fully intend to make the most of every moment. I think it’s a bit of a shame that others don’t seem to enjoy it as much as I do, but like I said, we’re all different.

We most definitely are, it’s a strange one because like you, the victory with the rags was full of euphoria throughout, I fuckin loved it, yet the scouse ones, I found it incredibly draining tbh mate, speaking to my old scouse friend he did too and we both kind of laughed and hoped one of us would romp it the next season.

Maybe the difference was that the first was very much a ‘new experience’, I don’t know, but I know having no control over the outcome for me personally is a very big factor in the liverpool run-ins than the rag one.

To answer the question though, relegation battles I think are far worse, the best you can hope for is survival, a title race, there’s glory to be had, and even if you don’t win, there’s a likelihood you’ll be there or thereabouts next season (and I say that knowing we were relegated as champions in the past).

The worst thing in football is being behind your nemesis. For me relegation battles are more tense that title chases, but nothing is worse than being behind United. We had years of that, nowadays my arse twitches if they get within 6 points of us. Priority 1 for me is finishing above United (even if we were relegated) priority two is titles.

The title chases take it out of me mentally. Pathetic i know , but the strain of chasing a title knowing that one slip up and its over takes its toll.
I felt ill after the “no vinnie no” leicester game. The stress was immense!
I loved it when we were 19 points clear or whatever it was ;)

The only relegation that hit me hard was v luton. I cried. The rest very much had an air of inevitability about them and were fully expected.
Even going down to the third tier was met with a shrug of the shoulders, i knew it was coming

Being a football fan is tough!!! :))

This can't be a serious question. In the late 90s it was a pleasure that we even scored a goal!!
