This City job is massively more complicated and harder than his job at Chelsea. Back then he had to compete with United, Arsenal and Liverpool for honours and that's it; Hughes apparently has to compete with Chelsea, United, Arsenal & Liverpool. And that's ignoring Tottenham, Villa & Everton when they've all been a lot closer to competing with the big four for years when we haven't.
Even if we offered him all the money in the world this job would be a gamble for him so I wouldn't talk up how he'd do here because it's by no means a given that he'd come. It'd be a gamble for him - his reputation would be tarnished if he didn't instantly win - and reputation means everything to a man with that ego.
By all means talk up his arrival if we have failed to hit our targets at the end of the season but for Hughes outers to constantly call for Mourinho when we're still within touching distance of our targets is tiresome to say the least.
