When Did We Last Play Well?

Superb at West Brom with 10 men for most of the game. Hardly yonks ago was it?
Exactly FFS and against a team that at home had just beaten Liverpool,Everton and drew with Chelsea ,I think without conceding a goal at home.

Had really high hopes after beating Chelsea in the CS, thought we looked very good for most of it and thought in a few weeks we'll be motoring.

Barring that W.B.A down to ten men is probably the only time I've thought we approached anything like the performances last season.

Thought we were good yesterday to be honest, if we had scored from any of our 17 shots we would be talking about a great result. That's the fine margins of football I suppose.

+1

Some people still see the game as being about banging it long and it bouncing around a penalty box. We are controlled and pass it and seek out the chances...and 17 shots is good in a game. We could easily have won that game.

The satisfying element of this season is, that despite firing on three or even two cylinders and not playing the sparkling kind of stuff that got us nearly twice as many goals this time last season, we are still unbeaten and knocking at the door again! Only be the right kind of coin toss, meat pie, handshake that is gonna give us the kick needed to press on. Oh, and a cool £100m in the January window.

The second half in the 1-6 last season.
So utd home, Norwich away, Newcastle away, u miss them games.

Sorry, I was referring to the last time we resembled anywhere near our best football.
So was I, for the record they had ten men. So not even worth comparing with the magnificent Newcastle away win.

its got to be west brom, 10 men and they didnt have a shot at goal. plus we played very very very well

What the hell is getting into some of you FFS, granted we have not been tearing up any trees, but there really is no need for all this crap so early on in the season.

This season we are defending champions, I think this has a bearing with the way opposition set up to play against us, I also think there are psychological aspects for the team as well.

I am confident we will be back to our best in time especially when we get over all these niggling injuries
