When was your first season ticket and when were they introduced at City ?

I think he means that he bought the ticket for that season in the spring of 1989, without knowing whether we were going to get promoted or not for the following campaign. Fortunately, we did, though we cut it a bit fine. :)

The renewals always came out before the end of the previous season and there were always discounts for renewing early, IIRC.

And the good players (Paul Stewart a prime example) flogged shortly after the deadline day for discounts had gone!

Didn't we use Trevor Francis in adverts on Piccadilly over the summer to try and shift more STs over May/June (we may have extended the discount period) and then sell him once Swales thought there wouldn't be any more sales? I remember being absolutely livid about that.

I also remember the Billy McNeill 'help me make City great again' leaflet for the Development Association. He'd gone within a month of it being issued.

Got my first season ticket at the start of the 72/73 season. I think it was about a £5 for a junior in the Platt Lane, row 5 right behind the nets. Often see myself on old YouTube clips
