Whilst we’re reminiscing.....

Any random matches you enjoyed when in the doldrums.

SWP’s debut (I think) away to Port Vale....circa 1999.

He came on as sub, shirt and shorts about 3 sizes too big!

‘Shauny WRIGHT WRIGHT WRIGHT!’ Rung out as soon as he came on.

I think he set up the first goal to go 1-0 up (I think the fans awarded him the goal by default).

Vale equalised then....

Danny Granville scored a cracking downward header rising like a salmon at the back post.

Great atmosphere and equally good pudding, chips and gravy on the way home.

Been mentioned on other threads but Stoke at home late 98, came from behind to win 2-1 , really got behind the team and then we went on a run all the way to Wembley and Gillingham win which could have a thread of its own.

City 4 Stockport 1 1998
Megson in the dugout for County
The Goats first city goal and even 2 for Bradbury!

I was convinced that would be the turning point in us staying up that season, but then we only took two points from the next four games :(
