When will Fergie retire?

Me too. He'll either win the league and retire after number 20 or not win it. If he doesn't win it, it almost certainly won't be as close as last season so he'll know his time for rebuilding is up.

The problem is that without him, everything is more risky and the Glazers will be praying everything doesn't fall apart.

I really do think he has some kind of psychological problem now... for someone of his age and (obviously deteriorating) condition to be so determined to cling on to his position and carry on working instead of spending precious time with his family and loved ones, its just not normal.

I should imagine he spends more time with his family than the average office worker

I'm convinced he will go if he wins his 20th this season. I think that's his masterplan and the I think the media have been told to ratchet it up in a bid for them to get this 20th title. We keep hearing how they won't lose the league on goal average etc and it's all a ploy to pile the pressure on. They don't want to talk about the inevitable happening at this point in time but as the season progress's and if they look to be falling behind in the title race then I expect the whispers to start and leaks here and there to come out and they'll build it up to steal the headlines off the eventual Champions at the end of the season because they won't have won the title. Everything's going against him to keep going. His age, health, restucturing and teambuilding whilst other top managers like Pep are available and Jose always making noises for a return to the England will make it very difficult for United's board to keep him at the helm. I think he will retire to the boardroom next Summer whatever happens whilst making all the headlines in doing so.

if he wins the PL this year or beats the 1 class team they will meet (probably the final, they will get the easier draws upto then) in winning the CL this year, he will retire imho.

I hope he stays around long enough to see it all come crashing down around him but looking at the state of him lately he's likely to do a Jock Stein before long, if it happens to be on 9th December I'll be the first one to start the poznan as the paramedics go rushing over to him.

I think that's very charitable of you to turn away - it would be rude to stare as they're pumping his chest on the touchline

Unlike Muwamba I don't imagine anyone from the crowd would be rushing onto the pitch to help the old cnut out! LOL

They'd send Platt down the tunnel to get the de fib.. Platt would probably stop off for a piss and a bacon sandwich before returning with it!

God I hope you are an oracle. There should be a law preventing his face appearing on our TV screens, especially when I am having my tea
