Where do you think we'll finish this season and why?

Will be very interesting to see how we line up this season.

I would like to see a 4 3 1 2 with Fernando, Delph and Fernandinho the 3 and Silva in behind Sterling and Aguero. We weren't competitive enough in midfield last season and we have to rectify that
If Fernando and Delph start the majority of games I'm going to reassess my earlier prediction and say third/fourth.

Imo Arsenal and Chelsea will be the strongest tactically over the season even Turtlehead will set up an improved rag side that will be hard to beat, especially if they can get a quality CB. Like last season we will probably drop points against the mid to lower placed teams and not get quite enough points from our rivals. I think we'll be in and around the 3rd and 4th place. Our defenders will be our downfall not our front six.

Why will Arsenal and Utd be better than us? Arsenal have signed a goalkeeper that's it. He may be a good keeper but will it see them improve so much more that they'll finish ahead of us? Utd haven't done anything to address their problems at the back and have a forward line lacking any real firepower.
Your assertion that our defence will be our downfall is just a lazy one based on an unfit Kompany, a new CB settling in and the best right back in the league having an off season. I see a much improved defence this year, a better understanding and less individual mistakes.

So what was the difference between Bobby Mancs team of 2012 and Pellers team of 2014.
With the 2012 team we had De Jong, Barry and Lescott. Bobby Manc played with an Italian phylosophy of defence being deeper. Pellers seems to favour the high line of defence.
We did get caught out on the counter attack . We do not seem to score from corners anymore but Chelsea - all their back 4 scored goals.
So I am still believing we can finish 2nd but who knows?. - Fernando says he had a groin strain most of last season - now we have Delph who can be good for us.
I still think our first team squad needs a few games to get into gear - and I wish Chelsea was not our first home game. I can see Chelsea not losing at the Etihad , might even nick it - then all our doom merchants will be out in force. I really hope we sign KdB from Wolfsburg. Yaya can play further forward then. Wow - I am really getting excited by the start of the season. What team - and tactics - will we put out.? Hart, Zab, Komps , Mangler , Kolorov/Clichy - Denayer to cover - in the back 4.
Yaya ,Feny 1 and Ferny 2 , Delph , KdB (?),
Nasri and Dzeko to be subs.
Silva , Aguero and Sterling with Bony. I probably have missed someone out. Bring it on!!.

I'm sure people will have differing opinions, from those supremely confident to the pessimists. Hopefully people will respect the opinions of others. Of course, there's still time for transfer market business which could have a huge bearing on things, but on what we already know, how do you see us doing?

For me, there are reasons to be both confident and cautious. Chelsea haven't strengthened as yet, neither have Arsenal. United are trying to bed in a few at once, which mightn't be easy. Sterling should slot in nicely. Key players have had a summer off. Some exciting kids coming through. Our genuine top drawer stars haven't been seriously courted by Barca and Real as he press lazily predicted. Yet the other signings so far have been more squad additions rather than key players, still think we need a top notch midfielder and defender, and have concerns about motivation with us knowing the manager's in his final year here.

Might gauge the general mood before giving a specific prediction, but i think Chelsea are the most likely winners. A Pogba level signing would change my mind.

1st in Premiership & runners up in Champions league (or the other way round).
League cup won, mostly by the young players.
The Sun today says we are set to miss out on De Bruyne so we might as well forget that one.

I honestly believe it depends on Yaya, if he is going to be a regular starter then we'll finish 2nd/3rd in the league and get knocked out by the last 16 of the Champions League. If we can buy a top class, energetic midfielder and Yaya plays a squad role and we get Dr Bruyne then I truly believe we can win the lot.

Obviously we won't because there are so many variables (luck, refereeing decisions, injury/suspension) but other than Real, Barca and Bayern I don't think anyone else is close.

Oh this is always hard to say. I think a lot rests on Kuns shoulders. If he is injury free we have a great chance of winning the title or being close. I think with some players they have a point to prove this season in that there is a host of players. Kompany , Mangala , Zabba , Fernando and Yaya all 5 have points to prove and how they will react this season will be huge for us as a club.
Yaya is key. How will Yaya react if he is not first pick anymore which will happen this season. Yaya can be a monster for us this season but would he be happy for a bit part season or being a impact sub. We need a fully fit Yaya but its getting harder for him. Also if we bring in KDB I think Yaya drops out of the team with Silva playing behind Kun for me.
I think if we get lucky in the champions league we could well go deep into the competition.

My aims for the lot.
League top 2 think we might win it but be happy with a top 2 finish and pushing the winners to it.
League Cup semi finals think we will use the young lads in this.
FA Cup Winners
Champions League - Semi finals for some reason I think we will get beaten by the winners of the cup.
