Where is Michael Johnson?

He likes his clubbing too much , and he can't do that if he's training and playing footie ........ no , a wander into the treatment room each day for elevenses and a chat with the physio suits him just fine!

Not a thread speculating if he's boozing, gambling, or has an attitude problem. What was the last official line on his whereabouts and more importantly if there is no official line, why hasn't the question been asked?

The last quote from the club is from Hughes over a month ago saying he should be "back in a few weeks along with Benjani"..

Have I missed a story on the official site? Can't find anything.
he and Glauber Berti were last seen surfing in the Bermuda Triangle

I've heard a rumour he's living with Stan Bowells who is showing him the path of righteousness.

Bloody true, (hic), that is.

I've been told that the injuries are all in his head and he comes into training everyday with a different one, not sure how true this is though.

Would love to see a fully fit Johnson back personally.

Would we really benefit with him back anyway?
Is he better than Kompnay? Elano? Robinho? Wright-Phillips? Ireland?
Wouldn't even get a look in.

My thinking too.

No official updates is odd though. And his last 'public' appearance seems to have been on the lash for the Christmas Party...
I too see a slide down the divisions for this lad. He seemed to be a promising young player. Unfortunately it appears he believed his own publicity too much, and thought he was the finished article when he was far from it. Add to that a liking for the nightlife.......Wasted career is the likely result. A real shame.

The above and any new signings we make in Jan will be ahead of him. He's done nothing for over 12 months and obviously didn't bear any comparison to Colin Bell. Hope I'm wrong, doubt it.

I had a chat with Mike Summerbee at Eastlands a week before Xmas. He was very open with his thoughts on a number of players as I was with an ex City colleague of his who is a family member of mine. His view on Johnson is that 'he is finished at City!!' The club have apparently accepted the fact that they cannot change his attitude. The plan is to get him back to fitness and accept an offer in the summer.

Like me, Mike is saddened by this given the potential he displayed in the first half of last season. However, it was refreshing to hear the truth for once!!

For the record his view on others was;

Richards - has put on too much muscle and lost his focus
Dunne - will get his form back
Robinho - didn't want to come but is now making more positive noises
Elano - has an attitude problem
Sturridge - lazy!! (Didn't look it yesterday though from where I was sitting 3 rows behind the goal!!)
Vassell - not good enough (You don't say!)
Benjani - not good enough
Jo - give him time but he expects him to go on loan in January

Happy new year blues!!

If this is true it would be ashame, although I think if this was the plan the club would hardly go around telling people thats the case, plus it dosent matter if he's fit or not, if he's not playing then your hardly gonna get what he's worth.

Also if the plan was to sell him Bowen would hardly be admitting to the press that he has 'Problems', Would he?

I wasnt belittling you or Mike I just meant that if it is true its certainly not the way to go about it!

why have the club not made him move back home his mam& dad would put him right. Michael come on the forum &tell the fans wots up & have a good look at gazza now ?????????????????hic

I was chatting to Fred Eyre at the home game against Everton, and he said the lad had problems, his mother and father believe he does not drink, they think all his problems are growing pains can you believe, all his injuries are down to this, I have seen people recover from a triple heart by pass quicker.
The verdict from what i can gather is the club are not willing to put up with his antics any longer

If it's true his dad banned him from drinking and eating fast food for years this is probably the fall out from that: he's bingeing to make up on lost time!

The club should not be 'giving up' on him just yet and I reckon it's a long long way from that. Look how much slack Barton got. I'd expect a fine and a public kick up the arse before 'giving up' , so I don't reckon he's done just yet.

I seen johnson in the birdcage in town about 2 weeks before xmas, absoulutley pissed as a fart, had all the women round him.
Think he has problems.

Personally, Id love to have Johnsons 'problems'. I dont see him being a success here and if Im proved right itl be no ones fault but his own. I carnt help but feel he is taking the piss.

What I dont understand though is that his problems hardly seem new, so who made the decision to give him a new 5 year contract on the crazy money he is rumoured to be on?!!
