Where were you on Sunday 30th May 1999 (Gillingham play off game?)

Couldn't believe it when Edghill stepped up for the fourth instead of the Goat but still probably the best penalty I've ever seen.
Doesn't get mentioned enough. Walked half the length of wembley and walloped his penalty in off the bar as if he was just out for a bit of a kick-about.

After all the shit he had to endure, his was a proper heroic contribution that afternoon.

I was there with my lad. At 0-2 he zipped up his jacket and said he wanted to go. After a childhood of my dad deciding to leave games early and missing crucial City goals (including two at the swamp) I told him we were going nowhere and that if the rags could get two injury time goals against Bayern a week or two before City were still in with a chance. He was glad I made him stay and never again asked to leave a game early.

Wembley. Did walk out on 88 mins but didn't get very far. Forever grateful to a blue who came crashing though a fire exit of what I presume was a conference suite and launched a bottle at the wall. Looking inside there were a smattering of blues, a telly but crucially a bar, I really needed a drink. Stood at the bar Kev scores but still not feeling it, can't watch just looking at my beer moping waiting for the inevitable. Think it was the "go on" as the ball dropped to the Goat that drew me back in just in time to see the goal. Cue a minute of mayhem, a surreal pause and then a mass stampede back out of the fire door and back up the steps. There were plenty of others doing the same.
So we only needed a goal to take it to extra time and you couldn't watch?
Fuking hell !!!!

I was sat behind Noel, Goldie and Keith Allen in the commonwealth stand. A freebie! I also went back to the Hilton to see the players. Great day and all the booze was free!

I was travelling in my brothers car on route to Wembley.
My brother is chilled out easy going guy until he's behind the wheel of a car.
Continually moaning and stressed out shouting abuse at other drivers.
Put it this way I've never been a passenger with him driving since
Not all bad though he did take to to maine road from the age of three.
For that I will always be grateful ( wasn't so grateful at school in 1980's ) getting dogs abuse from Rags. CTID

My message from page 7

Wembley.

Me and my dad had two tickets in the lower tier behind the net, however sold them to my mums cousin as my uncle managed to get us tickets in what was the second tier in those days on the front row.

When my dad picked up the tickets from my uncles contact at the ticket office, he asked who my dad was taking to which the reply was his son, the guy at the ticket off said, well if he likes oasis tell him to take his album covers to get signed as your going to be sat next to Noel Gallagher.

I was 18 at the time and thought I knew better and took nothing with me. Not even a camera.

Anyway, turns out the two he got us were with all the VIPs. Sat to my right were Noel Gallagher, Goldie and Keith Allen. Curly Watts to my left and some guy from Eastenders behind us. Can’t remember his name.

Noel and his crew left at 2-0 down, I would have followed if he hadn’t been for my dad insisting we see it out to the end.

Noel soon came rushing back in.

Great day and memories. Actually found my ticket signed by Noel the other day.

was sat oposite the royal box, i have never heard a crowd in a football stadium as noisy as that when we equalised, the only way i could describe it it was like sitting under rocket thrusters as it was being launched,id say even louder than the aguero moment

I was at my inlaws in Carmel, California (where Clint Eastwood was mayor for a while and the home of Pebble Beach Golf Course) following the game via text updates on a website (possibly ESPN) with a very crappy internet connection. It took ages to reload the page, which was excruciating during the penalty shoot-out!
