Robbie Fowler

i've just put him on another thread as our worst signing.

what excited you his broken hip.

david bernstein was excited.

he resigned.

SWP, Weah and Anelka this century.

Paul Stewart and Mick McCarthy in the 80s, Quinn and Kennedy to top and tail the 90s.

Probably the biggest signings worthy of world status i can ever remember were:

1)Trevor Francis.. when he left after that one season, our attendances went from 34000 down to 24000 !!!

2) Kazi Deyna.. I think we wanted Zbigniew Boniek but couldnt get him because he was under 30yrs of age and Poland wouldnt release players younger than this (How this explains Lato playing for Lokeren, dont ask me?) So we went for the next big gunner in this genius.

3)Robinhio..This was more of a shock signing as many here say. But once we realised he was our man, We new we were destined for greatness.

Robinho. After we signed him I couldn't wait to see him. Then he scored right in front of the south stand and we went mental.

When tevez looked like he was signing for us I was also very excited.

For real excitement I have to go back to the 70's with Rodney Marsh, Trevor Francis and Mick Channon.
Tueart and Watson signings were also very significant at the time.

Robinho signing did not excite as such, it blew my fcukin mind away.
