Which country do you hate most in the World Cup?

I do love the way certain people on this board like to some up a country by the actions of few idiots. I remember wearing a German top to a boozer near Maine Road and some City fans weren't happy and came over and said as much. After a few heated exchanged words I turned round and showed them 'Rosler 28' on the back. They then thought it was funny. Should I hate all City fans?

The country I don't want to win is France. My reasons for this are the fact that half of the best French players over the last few years weren't even Fench. They drained the best talent from Africa by setting up those soccer academies and getting the likes of Vieria etc playing for France when they are about as French as me.

Have a good day blue paul in dublin cheering england on in the pub with the rest of your irish compatriots ,or should i have said u.s.a/ just think it could have been so diffrent but for T,H.never mind mate.

You have a good day out too Malcolm. There was a vicious rumour in the Mail this morning that should England reach the final, the game wouldn't be shown on terrestrial tv for fear of upsetting foreigners living in your green and pleasant land. You might have to come over here to see it, you can even paint your face red and white and guess what, nobody will be in anyway offended or want to break your windows.

As for Thiery Henry, I hate the c**t but what does he care? You can guess who I 'hate' at this world cup!!

This thread has just reminded me of how many Sun readers we have on this forum. As for the Germans being arrogant.......Christ you couldn't make that up coming from an England fan! As for cheating, I agree that it's abhorrent, but it's a bit rich from someone who supports a team who have profited in two World Cups with Michael Owens diving. I think hate is too strong a word. Hopefully the best footballing team will win, and without having to resort to diving, or play acting or any of that crap, and for everyone on here, it's not just the Portugese who dive, or the French who cheat, or the Germans who are arrogant!

Yes, I'm a Jock.

And if anyone did manage to win it on that criteria then they would get my vote malg. Can't see it though can you?

Well is suppose the obvious one is Germany. With the history of wars and penalty shoot-outs with them you could say these are our greatest rivals. But with players such as Bert Trautmann and Uwe Rosler being in our Hall of Fame and in the friendly we played in Berlin a few years ago where there was a HUGE banner written in English which said something along the lines of "ENGLAND; THANK YOU FOR THE BEAUTIFUL GAME!" - which was a really nice thing to do - I'd say Germany are our greatest rivals buy I don't hate them!

Then there's Scotland. Going back to even before City were formed England and Scotland have played matches. But to be honest with Scots fighting with our troops in every battle and war for centuries as part of the Great British Army and many ties and links we have with them, again I don't really have a problem with them! It's more of a friendly local rivalry for me.

Argentina! Falklands and "the hand of god" has to make our country's rivals with each other! I think we've had some good games against them over the years, the best ever being a friendly in Switzerland about 5 or 6 years ago where I think we won 3-2 or summet - that was the best game I've ever seen Rooney play!
But again I don't particularly hate the Argies!

The team I absolutely hate are Portugal! They are the biggest bunch of girly, fairy, nancy boy wimps I've ever seen claim to be called men! In the last world cup in the semi finals against France they were diving all over the pitch in such a manner that they were a disgrace to football! Plus with the Chritiano R 'wink' to the bench when he was waving his hand to the ref demanding Rooney was red carded - I would happily have done time for seriously harming the smarmy c'unt!

So my vote goes to Portugal!

If you're basing it on wars or conflicts are you aware that Portugal are our longest standing allies?

And i've realised i've not put my cards on the table yet. My vote goes to France.

No I'm not basing it on wars but the Germany and Argy rivalries are definately contributed to with the history of wars with them, even if not intentionally they definately add to the aura of the rivalry!

Even tho Scotland are our allies now, we had hundreds of years of battles with them!

I also did explain why I hated Portugal!

You did mate, can't see how you can ever vote Portugal ahead of France though, but that's down to opinions. And if we're playing the diving ticket Rooney and Gerrard are master craftsmen at it, and as previously pointed out Owen used to go down quicker than a $20 whore.
