I just hope we go for some pace and width, we have been crying out for this all season, teams have sussed out that by packing the midfield it stiffles our passing game

Whenever them chimps from the swamp come up against a team who park the bus they have the option of going out wide and whipping balls into the box.

We need that option.

Summed up perfectly! My preference in order Reus, gotze, bale, pedro

Is isco a fast / wide / good crosser type or more silva?
Gotze isnt a winger or what we need. Hes an attacking midfielder like nasri or silva. We need a 'Bale' or 'Valencia' type player

if we sold a few, brought these two in and falcao and maybe de rossi i'd fucking die from excitement.

we wont get any of them, especially valencia but that would turn us into something incredible.

You are right that Gotze doesn't play wide but its unfair to compare him with Nasri - on a totally different level.

I'd like to see us go for a CM (Beñat or Paulinho) and a winger (Isco or James Rodriguez)

I think the boards attitude towards this window could give us some indication of Mancini's future. If he's backed, he's here to stay, if not, then it's looking bleak for him.

Mancini has made no effort to hide our main problem, a lack of goals from strikers. Aguero & Tevez have struggled to get through defences, despite their best efforts. Dzeko has not produced consistently (when starting). And Balotelli has proved to be a paper tiger.

What we need is an RVP-type player, a front man with technique and an ability to grab a goal out of nothing, the obvious candidates would be Falcao, Cavani and possibly someone like Jovetic. Whether we'll get anyone like that in Jan (or at all) is the big question, and one which surely rests on the future of Balotelli/Dzeko.

think we really are crying out for some pace down the flanks, walcott could solve that with the option of playing him through the middle in case we loose tevez/aguero for some reason. we really do get to congested in the middle when silva and nasri come off the wing from wide positions so need somebody who is more disciplined in that respect. wouldn't mind us taking a stab at lampard till the end of the season as well he is still a good player and would provide good cover/competition for yaya.

DOH

Backpage on twitter has said we have had a bid for Cavani turned down 55m
Euro's I would assume but that is Falcao's release clause
If we are prepared to spend that kind of money it could be an interesting window

De Laurentiis didn't specify whom that bid came from. Could have been from anyone. PSG have shown interest, Chelsea have only one striker in their entire squad, Real are looking for a new superstar striker, etc.
